Biography

Jeanette Awe, also known as Ou Xuan, is a Singaporean actress active in Chinese-language dramas and films. Born in Singapore, she graduated from the National University of Singapore. She won a talent search contest on TV and her acting career was launched.

In 2002, she co-starred in a drama series, Beautiful Connection, which became the highest-rated television drama in Singapore in 2002 and Jeanette won the Best Newcomer award in the Singapore's Star Awards. Her popularity continued with more roles in dramas such as Holland V, the most watched TV drama in Singapore in 2003. She was voted among the Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes award. She became the lead for the first time in Spice Siblings (2005). She also gained international fame in the critically acclaimed and most-watched drama series, Little Nyonya (2008). in which she played the dual role of a mother and daughter.

Over the years, she has also branched out to perform in Taiwan and China-based productions in leading roles such as the dramas, The Shaolin Warriors (2008) and Precious (2011). Precious is a Chinese version of Jeanette's iconic drama series, The Little Nyonya, and she played a triple role as the grandmother, mother, and daughter.

Jeannette Awe has had an illustrious career with multiple award wins and nominations. She has continued to take on challenging roles to portray diverse characters.
