Biography
Monica Cruz is a Spaniard ballerina and dancer born in Madrid on March 16th, 1977. She is sister of the well-known actress Penélope Cruz and Eduardo Cruz. Monica debuted in the television series called Un Paso Adelante. Thanks to the success of this series, the musical group Upa Dance was formed along with Miguel Ángel Muñoz, Pablo Puyol, Beatriz Luengo, and Silvia Marty. This group sold over 700,000 records and filled up stadiums around Spain.
After Un Paso Adelante Monica’s career took off internationally. She starred in The Inquiry and also in Astérix en los Juegos Olimpicos along with Gérard Depardieu. She also did a couple of successful movies in France and Italy. In 2006, Monica Cruz starred in Last Hour along with actor and rapper DMX and soon after partook in En Busca de la Tumba. Later on she starred in Camino Flamenco along with Patrick Swayze and then participated in the movie Caminando. In 2010, she partook in the successful series called Aguila Roja.
