Coffee Prince starring Yoon Eun Hye and Gong Yoo

We hope you enjoy this incredible series if you have not seen it yet. This romantic comedy was quite provocative when it launched as it revolves around issues of homosexuality. Han Kyul (Gong Yoo), the handsome son of a wealthy hotelier family, is set in his bachelor lifestyle and does not believe in commitment. His family's constant pressure for him to get married drives him to the point that he pays a young man to pretend to be his gay partner. Trouble starts when Han Kyul falls in love with this man. There are other subplots which make this show rich and deep in character, including the love-heartbreak-love relationship between Han Sung, played by one of our favorite actors Lee Sun Gyun from White Tower, and Yoo Joo, played by hotness Chae Jung Ahn.

Coffee Prince won a bunch of awards, including 2007 MBC Acting Awards for Yoon Eun Hye and Gong Yoo, as well as the best TV drama award in the 2008 Korean Producers' Award. It has aired throughout Asia, with special popularity in the Philippines, where Martin Nievera sang the theme song "Because of You". It has also aired in remote places such as Israel and Zimbabwe.

Also known as The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince. Visit our friends at Drama Wiki and Hancinema for additional information about this drama.

One of the best of all time I watched this drama pretty early on and it still remains one of my favorites. I think I fell in love with the leading male character in the process. :) The leading female does a very convincing job at her role as a tomboyish girl. The music is great too. I wait around for dramas of this caliber to catch my attention.

Cuteness! Coffee Prince makes my heart flutter and feel young, again :) Some things are indeed universal: anxiety, anticipation, confusion, and of course, the joy of love... ah, amour! It's always funny when it happens - one day, you are hanging out with a friend of yours, and the next moment, you are wishing he or she would look at you more than just a "friend" ... after all, you already have enough friends, and you just want that one "friend" to look at you and love you for what you are - whether you are an "alien". YEH definitely deserves all the awards for her portrayal of Ko Eun Chan. GY and YEH's chemistry has just the right mix - and the rest of the support truly made this drama worth watching. Highly recommended. Have fun!

nice and entertaining What I liked the most about this drama is the love protraided between the two main characters. When it comes to falling in love gender, class, education etc ,..doesnot matter. It made me feel happy watching it. It has a nice ending.

Excellent This went above and beyond my expectations and any drama I've seen. Excellent acting and an excellent script. There was lots of comedy too, which was a plus. The characters are (mostly) all loveable and everyone's own side-story was interesting. It was more mature than a lot of other dramas and touched on not just the issue of homosexuality but also discussed marriage, fidelity, and working women. I know it is a huge step for a Korean drama to portray a homosexual relationship, even if it wasn't really homosexual after all. Even so, I sometimes wished Eun Chan was really a guy and I hope in the future someone will produce a drama that depicts an actual homosexual relationship.
