My Man's Woman starring Kim Hee Ae and Kim Sang Joong
My Man's Woman is a highly successful SBS drama that aired in 2007 to ratings in the higher end of 20% and 30%, reaching almost 40% in its final episode. These high ratings were in part due to its open and relatively groundbreaking treatment of the topic of adultery and sympathetic, multi-faceted portrayal of an adulteress.
Hwa Young (played by Kim Hee Ae) marries a Korean-American after college and moves with him to America. When his business fails, he commits suicide, and Hwa Young returns to Korea to start her life anew with the help of old friend Ji Soo (Bae Jung Ok). Ji-soo is married to Joon Pyo (Kim Sang Joong), whom she dated for seven years while trying to get the approval of his family before finally marrying him with their grudging consent.
When the widowed Hwa Young meets Joon Pyo, whose love for his wife has long since fled, she falls madly in love, and the two embark on a dangerous, dizzying affair. Ji Soo, who struggles to be the perfect wife under pressure from her in-laws, finds her world turned upside down when she discovers that her best friend is having an affair with her husband. Soon the three are caught in a maze in which the line between truth and lies, between the role of perfect wife and evil seductress, becomes surprisingly fluid.

It was a good drama. Very good acting. It should have been a movie, 1 or 2 episodes would have told the whole story. It certainly was way tooooooo long. The story never got more interesting because once he left home the story NEVER really moved on. Then all of the episodes were almost repititious. The ending was OK because it was reality.
I really don't like how they wrote this drama. Why does the wife of 20 years not get her a hot man like she wants? I thought the rich rich grandpa would leave the grandson an inheritance. a hugh one. He cancelled on his son/who does that?/what kind of father is he any way? cause that witch had a bad time with her mother? He is a Dog! The witches brother, who is he? his persona turns me on.
In my opinion this drama is worth watching . It has comedy, drama, && betrayal.
The actors and actresses did not over do their characters, there was a lot of passion that they showed that can make one believe that they were not merely acting but they have transformed into their characters and made it believable . Also has Real life plots that anyone that have or is going through marital problems can understand. And this is the first drama where the in-laws weren't against the daughter in-law , but supported her. But watch it and be the judge for yourself =.=
I was disappointed, I guess, because I am used to other Kdramas having suspense and leave me wanting more. That was not the case this time around. The characters' responses to the affair were what one would expect, so no surprise there. The one part I enjoyed was watching Dal-sam ask his wife, Eun-soo for kisses, out of the blue.
Oh well, there is bound to be hits and misses. This was a definite miss.
if i was the sister, or wife i would destroy the bitch, i will shave her head, drown her in the tub but not kill her, i will break everything in her house, smash the soju bottle on her head, as for my husband i will divorce him, take the child away and make sure he will never have anything to do with my son, take more than half of his wealth and tell him to fuck off to go to that slutty bitch. but i will make sure both my husband and his bitch will never ever recover , or love each other after leaving me, i will make it in a way that they will live in regret, and blame each other forever, n both of them will never find happiness in each other's confort. i don't care how the producers or directors try to make the movie i still don't think adultry is acceptable. why can't she find another man, why ur best friend's husband out of all the men in the world
This is a great drama - very relatable to real life. The acting is excellent and so is the writing, direction. It is a drama to be savored - I highly, highly recommend it.
I really enjoyed watching the drama. It was the first time for me watching k-drama where they actually showed more skin, lovers in bed etc... almost like watching American drama. I thought for the most part the actors were really good, even with the over the top sister & brother in law, I guess every drama needs some comic relief. I really wanted to hate Kim Hee Ae character but I wound up feeling really sad for her because she really wasn't a bad person, just another woman caught up in the idea of romance with a weak and cowardly man.
I was hoping for a better ending though, one that showed their lives down the line, very disappointing ending.
