A cynical, arrogant politician takes a young woman from a small town and turns her into a political powerhouse, and may end up falling in love along the way.
Shin Mi Rae (Kim Sun Ah) is a junior secretary in the mayoral office in Inju City. After years of fetching coffee and running errands, she has no plans beyond remaining neutral and keeping her job. Enter Jo Gook (Chae Seung Won), a high-profile, rising political star mysteriously sent to take over as deputy mayor. Jo Gook's ultimate goal is the presidency of South Korea and he's not exactly thrilled about being banished to a small town, but he quickly adapts, and eyes Mi Rae as a potential asset.
When Mi Rae wins a beauty pageant and demands the prize money which her corrupt boss has stolen, she is promptly fired. Jo Gook decides that now is the time to take action. Taking her under his wing, he propels her into the political arena and introduces her as the newest candidate for the mayoral office. Up against her ex-boss and other corrupt government officials, will she still have what it takes to rise to the top and win a few hearts on the way?

Despite the crying scenes, I laughed so hard at the antics between "Daddy Long Legs" & "King Kong." With tangible chemistry, great script and co-stars, I would watch this time & time again. Cha & Kim were compelling public figures. I would vote for them :-). As funny as Greatest Love
Kim Sun Ah and Cha Seung Won are phenomonal together. They have tremendous chemistry. Kim Sun Ah has never looked more beautiful, and Cha Seung Won is the sexiest men on Korean film/TV. Thank you to the director, producer, and writer for a romantic, funny and warm show. It was so nice to see adult actors in a romance. The tango scene is so romantic; a must for everyone. Made me want to go out and dance. Thank you for a wonderful, wonderful show!
I thoroughly enjoyed this series. What an excellent romantic comedy. Funny, witty, dramatic, inspiring. I'd watch Kim Sun Ah and Cha Seung Won anyday. They are by far my favorite Korean actors. Keep em coming Drama Fever!!!!
Really, this drama was awesome! Ok... the end was maybe too romantic, but I won't complain! XD Great plot and the chimestry between the two lead actors was perfect! I've seen Cha Seung Won in Greatest Love. Even if his narcissic and funny character is a MUST SEE IT, I think that the relationship between the leads characters was more natural and true in City Hall, less funny, but more natural. Anyway, it is my opinion. Great romance, somehow too much, but enjoyable! Kim Seon Ah is really talentful, she made me laugh a lot! You won't regret this 20 episodes. ^^
This is my first review to write... I just had to say how wonderful this series is!! I'm not into political turmoil but there were so many angles and plot twists, humor, and romance to take the edge off of the political side of things. I love that they developed many of the characters and gave them depth, rather than just the main 2. This is only my third time giving 5 stars...it definitely deserves it!!
Eversince I watched "My Lovely Sam Soon" I got hooked on Korean Dramas. I admit I'm a KD addict!. Who can blame me? The stories are heartwarming, dialogues are inspiring and characters are interesting...to all Koreans involved on making all these dramas, old, new or coming soon... I applaud you and FIGHTING! Among KDs I have watched, so far CITY HALL is my favorite. Loved the theme songs, loved the chemistry of KSA and CSW.....is it possible to have a sequel????????? please please please give us more paranthesis :)))
I really love the story lines of K-Dramas, however, I do have one complaint..maybe because there is a cultural difference being that I am Americans. Why do all of the women act insane? While the men act sane. This is ridiculous. So far, I have only see one/two K-Dramas where the leading lady was somewhat sane and mature and that was Dr. Champ and Oh My Lady. Both were awesome. But I'm glad I watched this one all the way until the end. I'm a huge fan of Cha Seung Won and have watched just about he's starred in, I luved him in Greatest Love as well, his acting ability is flawless, he's tall, handsome, mature, and has a voice to die for. Having said that he's a great kisser, they really were kissing with they eyes close and mouth open, with some tongue action, very usual in K Dramas.
Started this drama three times. I finished Greatest Love that stared Cha Seung Won and enjoyed it so much that I wanted to see him in City Hall.
For me this series became interesting around episode 9 and it had a wonderful ending.
