Lovers in Paris starring Kim Jung Eun, Park Shin Yang and Lee Dong Gun

The phenomenon that began the popular Lovers trilogy (Lovers in Paris, Lovers in Prague, Lovers), Lovers in Paris is one of the highest-rated Korean dramas to this day.

Kang Tae Young (Kim Jung Eun), the daughter of a poor film director, moves to Paris after her father dies. While dreaming of writing a screenplay, she takes a job as a housekeeper at the home of sophisticated, cynical millionaire Han Ki Joo, who has moved to Paris to recover from his recent divorce. With his sights on the position of Chairman in his father's company, the last thing on his mind is romance, and he quickly grows impatient with straightforward, spunky Tae Young and fires her.

When an opportunity arises to help further his business plans, he hires her to pretend to be his fiancé. Gradually the two begin to develop feelings for each other, but misunderstandings quickly divide them, not least of which is Yoon Soo Hyuk (Lee Dong Gun), Ki Joo's nephew and closest friend, who meets and falls in love with Tae Young. Faced with lives, circumstances, and transcontinental distances which seem determined to separate them, this is a story of two lovers overcoming chance, tragedy, and their own fearful hearts to find out whether they can together make more than a beautiful memory in Paris.

Also known as Des amoureux á Paris, My Sweetheart In Paris, Romance in Paris.

It can be slow at times but I enjoyed it.

I was initially hooked by the first few episodes. Unfortunately, it went downhill from there. The story moved away from Paris, the two main male leads turned out to be neither attractive (in good looks nor personality), and the plot fell into the typical pattern of "who can make the biggest mess for everybody around, and still pretend to be pitiable?". One of the few things that kept me watching was the main actress. I just couldn't find a reason to watch the last 10 episodes play out.

An entertaining drama. I found the ending somewhat frustrating, but that was part of the fun of it.

This is the first ever Korean Drama that I watched awhile ago cause it aired on ABS-CBN (filipino channel) It's the first one that got me hooked on korean drama lol. This is an adorable story and I had to watch it again to hear the original voices cause I watched it in tagalog lol :) Sure it may not be the best drama, but I liked the story and the ending was cute :)

I loved the story...a little frustrating, but what Korean drama isnt...however I hated the ending. It sucked. Which makes me sad cause I would've given it 5 stars if it had a good ending. It leaves you feeling like, "man, I went through all of that and got no closure!"...very unfulfilling

Just watched the series. I heard all the hypes about it but was hesitated to watch because many people were talking about the bad ending. Anyway, watched the first 10 episodes, found it interesting but in the middle of the 11th episode, it’s getting a little dragging, so I decided to skip to the end and find out where did all the complaints come from. I have to say, I love the ending! Instead of sealing off with a kiss or a traditional wedding scene, the writer was trying to make something more memorable. To me, I think the ending has two possibilities, one is a parallel world/after life scenario, the other is what happened in Paris was all the screenplay/book written by the female lead, the ending part where they were in Korea was the real life. She made a wish that she would meet a true love just like the characters in her book, and she did. I personally think the latter is the real intention of the writer. Overall, a great drama that worth all the raves!

It is not a in depth story but it is thoroughly entertaining. It is a nicely written, well directed love story with mature adult script/dialogue. The( real life like )chemistry between the three main leads is exceptional. Both male leads are great. Dong Gun is exceptionally talented. Jung Eun is an amazing actress.

It's easy to give this four stars. In fact, the only reason I don't give five is because it wasn't quite good enough that I wanted to immediately watch it again (that's my personal requisite for five stars). I watched this because after seeing "I Am Legend" and learning that Kim Jung Eun replaced Kim Sun Ah in that series, I wanted to sample more of Jung Eun's acting. I wasn't disappointed and found the same things I enjoy about Sun Ah attracted me to Jung Eun in this...it doesn't hurt that her eyes are mesmerizing. I'll probably watch this again even though I was initially disappointed with the ending. I'm hoping the writers were trying to say the couple are destined to meet and fall in love. If so, I can embrace that sentiment.

A good drama but a little slow in parts. But I really like the actors and actresses so that really helped.
