Assorted Gems starring Go Na Eun, Lee Hyun Jin, So Yi Hyun, Kim Young Ok and Jung Hye Sun
The hilarious, heartwarming story of four siblings, all named after gems, who learn to live together and get along with one another in their family's boarding house.
Jade is the eldest of the family, a demanding perfectionist with her heart set on marrying a rich man who will rescue her from poverty. Ruby, is a nurse also determined to marry rich, who begins to fall for another tenant. Coral, their younger brother, is a hardworking law school graduate preparing for the bar exam. The youngest, Amber, is an aspiring actor. Presiding over these eclectic four and the tenants of their boarding house are patriarch, Gung Sang-shik, going through a mid-life crisis at age 55, and their irresponsible shop-a-holic mother. Sparks fly between parents, siblings, and tenants as many conflicting personalities struggle to reside under one roof.
With all this friction, will romance bring balance? Find out in Assorted Gems!
Watched it again for the second time only because I didn't like any of the synopsis from some of the newer dramas. Nothings change as the couple of Kyle and Ruby are still what makes me stick with this drama. Without them, I would have skipped this drama as it's just isn't worth watching without Kyle or Ruby. (SPOILER) If you haven't watched it all the way through yet DON'T READ FURTHER. I would have given this drama 4 stars had the ending not been rushed and had Kyle and Ruby been a couple at the end. They didn't even have to be a couple but an ending where Kyle shows back up the house waiting for Ruby would have been nice cause than people can decide their fate for themselves. Kyle and Ruby had the best chemistry from the very beginning and yet they're not a couple at the end makes the writer of this drama stupid. Great drama turn only good because of the ending.
Laughed alot from this drama. Really felt for the characters in this drama, however the ending was very rushed. Very dissapointing after the time invested in watching.
Assorted Gems is one of those rere drama that my interest after my belove drama Cityhall has end...
this drama is funny but romantic, good job form the witty dialogue, dynamic relationships.drama with
depth and heart...it's awesome drama ......Love the drama.....
Love the whole drama and got me so interested that spent whole Sunday just watching half of the espisodes but the ending really made me so mad that they finish everything in one epsiode. Also didn't like that Ruby ended up with the stupid doctor instead of Kyle.
For all the stuff that happens in this drama, I managed to keep from getting angry at the story until ep 26. A pretty good run IMHO. Look forward to seeing how it ends up.
This was like the third drama I saw on here when I first started about 1 yr ago and today just watched the last 10 episodes again and still love it. The story and characters were great and the acting fantastic. So funny and then sad too all the guys were so hot.
It was good show, somewhat dry at times, but one thing that bothered me is that they didn't clarify what happened between goodsoon (goonsoon. spelling?) and amber.
the last 10 mins had me in tears as well.
