Autumn in My Heart starring Song Hye Gyo, Won Bin, and Song Seung Hun

Rounding out its collection of the Four Seasons dramas, DramaFever brings you the first of the four dramas in this seminal quartet. Autumn in My Heart is a bittersweet and moving romance that taps into the same fairytale magic director Yoon Suk Ho brought to the other three dramas. In 2000, Yoon Suk Ho decided that he wanted to create a different type of drama : to tell the story of a "pure-hearted" love. Autumn in My Heart and in particular its follow-up Winter Sonata took Asia by storm and forever revolutionized Korean dramas. In this, a luminous Song Hye Kyo stars with Song Seung Hun, Won Bin, and Moon Geun Young before any of them were famous.

Eun Soo (Song Hye Kyo) and Yoon Joon-Seo (Song Seung Hun) grow up the children of a wealthy professor and have an affectionate brother-sister relationship. When Eun Soo is hit by a truck one day and gets a blood transfusion, a terrible truth is revealed: she is not in fact related to Joon-Seo or his parents. Due to a mix-up by a nurse, she was switched at birth with the Yoon's real daughter, who has been raised in poverty by a single mother.

When the Yoon's real daughter discovers the truth, she insists that the two be switched back. Eun Soo and and Joon-Seo lose track of each other, and Eun Soo becomes a hotel receptionist while Joon-Seo becomes a successful artist. When next they meet, Joon-Seo's good friend Tae-Seok (Won Bin) is pursuing Eun Soo, and Joon-Seo has become engaged to Shin Yu Mi (Ha Na Na). Eun Soo and Joon-Seo have never forgotten each other however, and the powerful connection they forged in childhood continues to draw them together. They still see each other as siblings, however: can they overcome their own confusion, class differences, and the interference of loved ones to discover what they might have together?

The terms destiny, love, betrayal, sad, happy, anger are all in one in this drama. From the beginning to end had so much roller coaster moments and each episode was one of a kind that made it better and better throughout. The cast had a lot of chemistry with one another which made Autumn In My Heart that damn good. Make-up can do wonders! Well, this is 1 of 4 Yoon Suk Ho season dramas and this entire summer I'll be watching all the them. I have 1 down, 3 to go. Up next... Winter Sonata!

5 stars for the first five episodes - never seen anything so beautiful than how this story starts out. Find a box of tissue and sit it out. You will cry. It will be worth it. Be prepared for the story to lose some of its intensity as it goes on, but you will still love seeing the characters as they grow and change. All the actors of stunning - especially the young ones in the beginning. They will melt your heart before they even grow up.

The most beautiful love story I have ever watched combined with the most heart wrenching story I have ever watched. Excelled cast of actors and actresses. Superbly written and directed. A mountain of tears. I had to calm myself for almost a week before I could watch the last episode. I will not ruin the viewing to tell of the ending but I will say "the writer kept it to a classic writing all the way up to the last second." I watched this about a year ago. In my opinion, No Melodrama has equaled it and Ithink it is Director Yoon Suk Ho's best work. He has the talent for also choosing the best actors/actresses for his dramas. I am going to watch it for the second time.

It's so disappointing how in almost every drama the twopeople meant together always miss each other by like 1 or 2 minutes maybe even seconds

I watched this years ago with some friends, it sparked my interest in K-drama. I'm looking forward to watching this a second time,. The boys in my group of friends who watched this, also cried (trying to hide the fact). I've been searching for this a long time. Thank you Dramafever!

Pros: Enjoyed the young actors, especially Moon Geun-Young, an early Won Bin, and veteran actress Kim Hae-Suk as the "poor" mother. Cons: the very felt chemistry between Jun-seo and Eun-seo deflated for me with the dozens of candles in the hay while eating cake with the cows! Puleez! That was the last straw after the HUGE inconsistency another viewer mentioned: you love your daughter and you abandon her to poverty? Then never send tuition, much less allowance to help her along? Meanwhile you're bedridden with guilt and longing?! I tried, but that and the cow birthday did it for me. I should have recalled my experience with Winter Sonata, which I did finish. I'm not spending 6 more hours on this.
