Family's Honor starring Park Shi Hoo, Yoon Jung Hee, and Shin Goo

This hit family drama tells a sparkling saga of two families caught in love and war.

Ha Dan Ah (Yoon Jung Hee) is the youngest granddaughter of the traditional Ha family, which is headed by grandfather Ha Man Gi (Shin Goo). Widowed at a young age, Dan Ah has been grieving ever since, and life is passing her by. Enter Lee Kang Suk (Park Shi Hoo), the son of the weatlhy rival Lee family, known for their ruthless and unscrupulous business practices. The Ha family, very conscious of their reputation and the dignity of the family name, scorn the Lee family, which in turn looks down on them in return. It started out a little slow but I am glad I continued to watch this drama. The storyline is captivating and it just keeps on surprising me. It truly is a must see. I hate I took so long to take out the time to watch it. It could have been longer the drama really was that good. You want be disappointed!!!

What a mosaic of form and function bursting with feelings of love, loss and wonderment. Not since watching 'A Love To Kill' which hooked me on kdramas has a show mesmerized me so completely. Genius in its conception, the fluidity of the story line kept in step like a well timed orchestra. The family dynamic deep rooted in tradition and custom gave purpose to a proud history passed down from generation to generation. Contrast this with Chaebol dynasties of today lost in the pursuit of power and capital gain. This best describes the two opposing families at the core of this drama. The complex relationships existing among all the family members on both sides peeked my interest from episode to episode. The deep connection between the two leads made me feel wanting (who in their life would not want to experience a love like this). A love that is pure, selfless and all encompassing. This drama will touch the heart, mind and soul not to be rivaled. For me, a new bar has been set for future dramas watched.

She is a hoot. She can dramatize the most trivial of things. I felt bad for Gang Suk when his parents were after him, but his other kept me laughing.

I was little bit hesitant to watch this due to its length. The growth that occurs from all the characters keeps you coming back for more. It made me wish this series was longer since I just loved all of the characters so much. I love how each romance in this series developed in their own unique way. It is one I will be re-watching for sure. I also love Park Shi Hoo in this series! He is one of my all time favorite actors!

The supporting cast and characters stole this drama and kept my interest from waning. Jun Hye Jin as the "stalking", lovesick girl and the moving music that was her theme always brought tears to my eyes despite admitting that her behaviour was irrational. Kim Sung Min and Maya were stellar in their comedic performances and I always laughed with them. Park Hyun Sook as the alcoholic great aunt was also extraordinary. Oh, don't forget veteran actress Kim Young Ok proving why botox is detrimental when emoting; her facial expressions were so moving. I'm looking forward to other dramas with all these fine actors. Obviously, the crash course in traditional Korean culture was a plus. Lee Hyun Jin's smile was frosting on the cake. It lost a star for the distracting "musak" in the hotel, mall and restaurant settings. Oh, and the slap. Uncalled for.

I watched this about three years ago when it was first broadcast in the U.S.and it hooked me on K drama forever. When it became available on the Internet I stayed up to 5 a.m. several times to watch as much as my eyes could stand. I have watched most of it three times. Each of the characters and story lines were developed so well. I loved the traditional marriage ritual and the funeral ritual. All the characters were cast so well.

I was hesitant to start this show because it's so incredibly long, but I'm glad I did. It's the Kdrama equivalent of a fluffy down comforter and a steaming mug of hot chocolate (with marshmallows) on a freezing January morning. The last drama that made me this spontaneously happy was Coffee Prince... I love the characters and the plot, and am amazed that the show is so well-paced that it feels shorter than the standard 16-episode drama.
