Bad Love marks star Kwon Sang Woo's return to TV after a two-year hiatus following his controversial link to a mob boss. As the title implies, this story is about a wicked, cruel, and sensational love triangle. Kwon Sang Woo plays Yong Ki, an illegitimate son of a tycoon who grew up without love. So he becomes a pop artist as a way to express his feelings and falls in love with another artist, only to end up in a devastating breakup.
While in this vulnerable state (he has a lot of feelings), he meets In Jung (Lee Yo Won of Queen Seon Duk) and opens up his heart to her. The only problem is that, unbeknownst to both, In Jung already had ties to his family. A few years back, she was deeply in love with Su Hwan, a married man who coldheartedly broke up with her to protect his business ambitions. To top it all off, she gets attacked by Su Hwan's spicy wife and actually ends up in jail for adultery (only in Korea...and may be Saudi Arabia). In Jung tries her best to get over Su Hwan, convincing herself that her suffering is a deserved punishment for stealing another woman's husband. Well, it turns out that Su Hwan is Yong Ki's brother-in-law who perseveres in a miserable marriage in the hopes of gaining control of the family business. When everyone discovers the truth, things get pretty messy as old feelings are stirred up again and there is a lot of hurting going around.
Bad Love was a controversial drama given its rather mature plot and several racy and violent scenes. However, Bad Love also features fine acting from top actors, and shows how easily a woman can fall into an adulterous situation and how complicated love can be.
Also known as Cruel Love, Mistake of Love, Wretched Love, or Screwed-Up Love. Visit our friends at Drama Wiki and Hancinema for additional information about this drama.
I got pissed off because there was no love/bed scene with the 2nd couple. My main guy and the skinny girl. Why didn't they have a bedroom scene with them like the one with the lieing adultress husband? Did that girl still love the married man at the end? She broke it off with the young man she was supposed to love to death and went her own way. But who did she rally love? I couldn't really tell in this movie.
At first I wasn't interested in watching due to the adultery tag. Then someone who'd seen it recommended the MUSIC and noted how one of the male characters "really loved her". Trying to figure out exactly which one made me stick to Cruel Love (like that title better). After the spectacularly racy first episodes, I started noticing all the typical kdrama conventions present in Cruel Love. I had soo much fun doing that while enjoying the cinematography, the little village scenes, the acting, the cliffhangers. I filled a whole legal-size sheet of paper: face slapping, screeching chaebols, drinks thrown in faces, car accidents, illegitimate child, the piggyback ride, mysterious illnesses, Noble Idiocy to the nth degree, working at the same company and "chance" meetings in elevators and hallways. LOL! If a friend asked me to recommend a typical melodrama, I'd choose this one over Winter Sonata or Autumn in My Heart *GAG* because it's not boring.
i love how the drama is a bit dark, intense, and emotional but i hate how lee yo won soo damn weak, can't she grow some balls and fight that mothersucker back who ruined her life when she didn't knwo he was married she let his spychotic wife ruined her life, killed her parents, her dream, youth and everything. if i was le yo won i would beat that wife's ass until she can no longer walk, and give her an emothional, psychological torture like she did to me until my heart's content and then dump her dumb ass husband.
Nobody can make women look more pitiful, stupid, useless and spiteful than Asians, I swear to God!!! Star deductions for the women's potrayals and another star deduction for the boring story!! At least the ending was decent and Kwon Sang Woo is hot , but that's about it!!
When I hear the saying "If it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all" I think of this drama. What started not so innocent and sweet (they hit the sheets in what the first episode-first time seeing that in a k-dramaa) turned into a series of "WTH?!?!" It showed how one mistake can warp into something so ugly and seemingly impossible to escape from. There were so many twists and turns that really held my attention. Though a tragic story in many ways, it's worth seeing.
Don't the characters ever kiss? This is so G rated! Nothing exciting. The best part of the series was Kwon Sang Woo. He's so handsome and a great actor!
some guys are just shady & sneaky so before you do something you can't take back, check and see if they have somebody else. i can even tell he's cheating on his wife by getting her a necklace instead of a ring like she really wanted. i'm not trying to be mean but besides business reasons i can see why he keeps cheating.
Big fan of the very handsome Kwon Sang Woo and the beautiful Lee Yo Won. Love their performance in this drama. This couple is so madly in love that nothing can separate them. The good looking Kim Sung Soo's role is so pitiful. This love story is as great as WINTER SONATA, ALL IN, STAIRWAY IN HEAVEN.... I like the songs & music and really enjoyed watching it!
