Strongest Chil Woo Starring Eric and Koo Hye Sun

Strongest Chil Woo is an unconventional historical drama starring Eric Moon (Que Sera Sera) and Koo Hye Sun (Boys Over Flowers) that was one of the most talked about shows in 2008. This is a story about a man who is a lowly government official by day but the Korean version of Zorro at night to avenge the villains of society. He dons a black mask, has long hair, and rides off on his horse brandishing a whip under the moonlight (this would be a great look on Halloween). The backdrop is Korea in the 1600s, when “it is said that rather than be a person born in chaotic times, better to be reborn as a dog in peaceful times. However, there are some people who are born as dogs in chaotic times. This is their story.” As you will see, there is a lot of messed up stuff done on people in Chil Woo’s world, especially against women.

Strongest Chil Woo can be pretty intense at times with lots of blood, cruelty, and horrific injustices inflicted on the weak. However, it is also a fun drama full of swagger and hysterical over-the-top scenes (drag queens, crazy elephant, horse acrobatics, magic, gods, etc.). This is a fictional story that places a very high value on its entertainment factor and doesn’t pretend to be historically accurate. Enjoy!

Also known as Strongest Chilwu, The Mighty Chilwu, or Choi Kang Chil Woo. Visit our friends at Drama Wiki and Hancinema for additional information about this drama.

not really a review... just wanted to say, Yoo Ah In is the prettiest thing I have ever seen. Pretty sure I'm in love. lol He's prettier than I am and I'm a girl, so does that make me a lesbian?

disappointing It had its moments, but overall was pretty lame and not worth your time. Most of the characters and their interactions were literally annoying. I slaved through all the episodes and they just barely kept my interest enough to watch the next episode. I'm just glad it's over so i can move on to an actually good show. One of the few highlights was the black assassin's badass costume.

Silly This drama is just totally silly....and it's obviously meant to be ( I hope) with the zorro mask and mark of the Z. Knowing that, it's somewhat fun to watch, but doesn't captivate me like all the other historical dramas on here. I rank Jumong at the top and am glad that was the first I watched.

can't blame the cast Some closeup shots which were meant to show how the characters felt took too long and some of the group dialogues were redundant (enough already! next scene, please) I give the cast 3 stars for doing their best under the circumstances. Blame the director and the scriptwriter for the missing 2 stars.

Did not like Koo Hye Sun as Yoon So Yoon Every time I see Koo Hye Sun on a show, she just rubs me the wrong way!! I really disliked her as Jandi on 'Boys Over Flowers' and I dislike her here and these are completely different characters. She mugged
