Based on a highly popular Japanese manga, God of Study is a compelling underdog story of competition and romance.
Kang Suk Ho (Kim Soo Ro) may not be the most successful lawyer, but the last thing he expects is to be called back to his old high school. Run-down and full of slackers and teenage delinquents, he is called in to deal with the administrative details of the school being shut down, he has no idea it will change his life forever. While wandering the school halls, he is touched by the plight of the students who, like him, come from mostly poor families and bad situations. He strikes a deal with the school board giving him a year to turn things around.
Suk Ho picks troublemaker Hwang Baek Hyun (Yoo Seung Ho), sweet Gil Pul Ip (Go Ah Sang), headstrong Na Hyun Jung (Ji Yeon), rich slacker Hong Chan Doo (Lee Hyun-woo), and lazy Oh Bong Goo (Lee Chan-ho) as the 5 students he must somehow help get accepted into Korea’s top University. Soon, this group of five mismatched misfits have formed an odd bond that results in romance, conflict, and even miracles.

very well written, superb directing and great acting. i didn't even give this one a look because i thought it was some wish wash teenager drama but not so. i watched this because of Lee Hyun Woo(man of equator) and so glad that i did. i love this drama from the intro to the end. One of the best!

this show is one of my faves...it made me cry to the point where my head hurts...this show focuses more on journey to reaching your dreams than a typical romance...i love this show!

I loved this drama...I am honestly surprised by the poor reviews...but I love high school dramas though. Its good and it has a good cast too, you will come to love them all.

This is a very good drama, not too heavy in the drama/romance area but is charming in its own way. Take the title literally all they do is study! But in the end they learn 2 very valuable lessons: who they are and how to be independent. I would have given it 5 stars but i couldnt for 2 reasons: 1. I really didnt like the music that they had except for the song that said "Because I'm Weary". 2. Because this drama made me feel dumb. They were solving equations I no idea existed. But the cast are all amazing My favorite Teacher in the Special Class was the science teacher and the best student was Kil Pulip becuase she reminded me of me lol

It was done quite well for a remake, no complaints here...which is surprising because I usually hate remakes from Japanese to Korean or vice versa

i really liked the story behind each of the kids and the difficulties they faced. they did a great job portraying their characters and each were lovable in their own way. if teachers really were allowed to go over to the students' houses and intervene into their lives to such extent, kids would definitely turn out differently than they are now. but alas, the authority teachers have over students is lessening as the years go by. nonetheless, this drama was enjoyable and inspiring.

i was surprised how good this series was. it had a good storyline and taught me some things too :) i kept wondering if they'd make some sort of teachers love twist, but glad with the way they did it. i really enjoyed all the characteristics of each teacher and student.

The kids irritated me in the beginning (already expected it), but the character development was awesome! I think that teachers should be more like the ones selected. They helped the kids with both school and sometimes personal problems. The kids and teachers both shared communications with at least one other person in their circle. The parents on the other hand....uhh...what the heck! but still they played a major role in this! awesome show! 5/5
