Goong starring Yoon Eun Hye and Joo Ji Hoon

In an imaginary world, modern-day Korea is run by a constitutional monarchy facing crumbling popularity after the recent death of the reigning King. To try to help the situation, the Royal Family decides to marry off the Crown Prince, Lee Shin (Joo Ji Hoon) prior to his ascension to the throne. To their horror, however, they discover that the dead King's father, Shin's grandfather had a pact with a commoner that their grandchildren would marry. Enter headstrong, klutzy, Shin Chae Kyung (Yoon Eun Hye), an average girl who is now suddenly engaged to the country's Crown Prince.

Prince Shin has no intention of making things easy for his commoner fiancé, however, especially since he’s got his eye on someone else. Chae Kyung soon finds her work cut out for her in adapting to palace life and trying to please the Royal family. Her optimistic spirit however captures the attention of Lee Yul, the other contender for the throne who, while trying to win the Princess in order to gain the throne, finds himself falling in love with her for real. Among the plots, deceptions, and expectations in the mix, can the Royal couple see each other for who they really are and manage to fall in love?

Why do these young people sleep in their clothes they have on all day? Gross! she is 19 or 20? she acts like a 14 year old, mentality wise-OMG IT IS CLEAR THIS GIRL DOES NOT WANT ANYTHING TO DO WITH SEX. SHE IS SO SIMPLE MINDED-WHOEVER HEARD OF HICCUPS--JUST CAUSE YOU DONT WANT TO KISS YOUR HUSBAND? I DOUBT IF THEY EVEN WRITE CONSUMATING THE MARRIAGE INTO THIS SCRIPT==ITS BEST; HER CHARACTER IS A TURN OFF. DUE TO HER DAMN IMMATURITY. IS SHE REALLY SCARED TO HAVE SEX. JUST LET HER GO --I SAY. BY THE WAY SHE IS SUPPOSE TO BE PREGNANT? WHEN DID THEY DO IT? LAST NIGHT AND THE NEXT DAY YOU HAVE NAUSEA? STOP INSULTING MY INTELLIGENCE! THIS WAS AN OK WATCH. NOTHING EXCEPTIONAL. THE CROWN PRINCE WAS THE EXCEPTION-HIS ACTING WAS STELLAR.

But this is no repeat Kdrama. I love all the actors (in other dramas), so it was nice to see them when they were younger. I just never really felt anything that was truly heartwarming or amazing in the chemistry/interactions between characters, or at least I didn't see anything beyond that unique cuteness that Kdramas are known for creating in their relationships, but a lot of shows do that, and they fortunately do that a lot better than here in Goong. Anyways, a fun watch, but nothing spectacular.

what i didnt like is that she busted out in tears over the simplest stuff that shouldnt have made her cry. Other than the babyish way she behaved the show was good.

This is not the first time I notice that a show is skipping a part. Episode 12, at 40 minutes - if you compare with hulu, you can see that a part of the movie is not there. I found out by accident, and it is not the first time. I am not watching shows on dramafever anymore, unless there is no other source. The commercials here are fewer and shorter than on hulu, but the format is cut on sides while on hulu I can see the whole picture, and movies missing parts are the worse.

I watched this drama about 2 years ago. And it was my first one EVER; obviously. And it just kept me hooked! I could easily relate tot he female lead; the storyline at times was overdrawn and quite often the characters would piss me off. Stereotypical modern princess diaries story; but I absolutely loved it. I'm hoping more K-Dramas will have the overall modern feel, with a poor girl who finally makes it big. I occasionally dream of another K-drama like that. *sigh* Basically: YOU WON'T REGRET IT.

Every show that have Yoon Eun Hye playing as the main role always bring the best of her work. other shows have weak female role but Yoon Eun Hye is never afraid to be silly, heartwarming and simply beautiful to show her puree heart to decade to be true to her role-playing. I have already watch all of her shows that she been in and I'm sad to say this is the last one that I could find her in. I hope she will make more and keep being heartfelt person as she is in real life.

Although there are parts that drag, especially with the royal adults, I can't get enough of the scenes with Shingoon and ChaeKhung. There chemistry is the best part of this drama. There are funny, touching, and romantic scenes that make this a drama that I can watch over and over again with no regrets. Wish there could be a second season. Now that Ji Joo Hoon is out of the army, he can do another drama with Yoon Eun Hye. I love the music for this drama too. It has songs/instrumentals that go well with the scenes. The Irish jig lets me know that something funny is going to happen and the sad instrumentals pull at my heartstrings.

cute....this drama definitely caters to teen audience. mature audience, where i belong, beware this may not for you. i have to fast forward a lot, somehow the cuteness/silliness/comic script didnt work for me, it hardly make me laugh. good story though very slow for me.
