In-Soon is Pretty starring Kim Hyun Joo and Kim Min Joon

Kim Hyun Joo (Boys Over Flowers, Partner) and Kim Min Joon (Friend, Our Legend) light up the screen in this bittersweet story of a woman haunted by her past and a man who is drawn to her in spite of himself. From the director of classic comedy Full House comes this compelling romance about love in the face of society.

After being abandoned by her mother as a child, Park In Soon (Kim Hyun Joo) is raised by her grandmother. Bright and beautiful, she struggles with poverty all throughout her life. After a terrible accident during her high school years she watches any chance at a normal life disappear. She pays for her alleged crimes, but loses the chance of getting to say goodbye to her Grandmother before she dies. Plagued by grief, she is miraculously rescued from despair from the reappearance of her childhood friend, Sang Woo. With Sang Woo’s friendship In Soon fights to rebuild her life and put her past behind her. Along the way she is able to reunite with her mother, now a famous actress. But will the world allow In Soon cast aside her troubled past and have the kind of life she deserves?

I feel that this drama line is more geared towards a longer series which allowed each character to be properly revealed. It was tad rushed both on how the characters connected and the romance. However, the acting is what kept me interested in the plot and it was fairly well done by all. I would give it three and a half stars but I can't.

How can a girl choose wrong every single time? Are we to believe in her sainthood? Did she learn any smarts in prison? And what about her "guru" teacher? Can he be more unattractive? And how about the male character miscasts. He acted well enough but had no vestiges of the sweet teenager he once was. Insoon showed a lot more passion for her beloved teacher than for her Sanyo. Her brother's story was the more poignant one and an ending with some redemption would have made the endless tears worthwhile.

I became bored with the main girl constantly making the wrong decisions and waffling about what to do next. And the constant crying and running away and going back to the teacher....so repetitive. By episode 8 I was only watching to see what happened to the sister and her love story and that ended so pathetically. No one has any resolution except for the main character and her guy, everyone else is left hanging which stinks. This is the first time I have given 3 stars and it would have been lower except for the secondary love story.

I watched this drama because of actor Lee Wan. The story was nice and worth the time spent watching. Kim Min Joon's acting in this drama was one of the best that I've seen him in. I also love the storyline between Insoon's brother and Jung Ah. I only wish that there was more of it.

I watched Insoon is Pretty a While Back. It was really good. Her life will just break your heart. Your going to cry. She has a heart of gold. Her character is so strong and tender despite what you see. Her family just shocks me to pieces. I'd watch this drama again.

The adopted brother should have been a real man and confessed. Since he did not I am glad he died. He allowed his sisters life to be destroyed and when she was back on her feet, he did everything to make her feel guilt and took advantage of her sister. I was not big fan of the teacher. Condiger Insun thought of killing herself a few time, saying she ok alone proves he did not understand her. I really liked the ending, free of guilt she at last does good on her own.

I find I have a love for them. The last episode was sad and sweet at the same time. A death was unexpected but alas made sense to me because of the chracter. The acting by the female lead and Geunsu was superb! If you like unconventional (like Lovers, All In), you will enjoy. This was defintely about loving yourself unconditionally and that is what InSoon had to do. This is one for the favorite list

Did not think I would enjoy this drama but it surprised me and was thoroughly engrossing, touching, sincere and romantic.
