Sign starring Park Shin Yang, Kim Ah Joong, and Uhm Ji Won

Check out the Behind the Scenes Specials for the entire series, subbed by DramaFever! The behind the scenes specials begin at 'Episode 21'!

Revered actor Park Shin Yang (Lovers in Paris, The Painter of the Wind) returns as a brilliant forensic investigator in crime thriller Sign. Kim Ah Joong, who shot to stardom in the film 200 Pounds Beauty, is his rookie love interest, while Uhm Ji Won (The Woman Who Still Wants to Marry) and Jung Gyu Woon (Dr. Champ) round out a solid cast. The drama, with its unusual crime investigation storyline (paired with a little romance), hit the ground running with high ratings and has been called the Korean C.S.I.

Go Da Kyung (Kim Ah Joong) has been successful working as a forensic doctor at a coroner's office, but what she really wants to do is investigate the crime scenes themselves. She manages to get a job as a rookie investigator paired with famed forensic doctor Yoon Ji Hoon (Park Shin Yang). The eager newbie and prickly veteran initially clash as they strive to solve crimes with tiny details they find, utilizing science to solve murders.

Jung Woo Jin (Uhm Ji Won), a ruthless prosecutor and Ji Hoon's ex, attempts to use their findings for her own ends, while Da Kyung clashes with impetuous police officer Choi Yi Han (Jung Gyu Woon). I am so glad that this is not another American style CSI show. I watched this show because I was interested in the screenwriters of Harvest Villa, which I strongly believe is the best modern drama ever. The lead characters PSY and KAJ, so admirably upright and idealistic but sometimes to a fault, they finally face a moment of truth for themselves. Will they cross the line? That is the test that we all have to face in life. I just loved the scenes (well in the last half) portraying how each of them are suffering and fighting with their own conscience and Moment of Truth, when they had to make a decision about the results of their assigned autopsies. The screenplay was excellent but the direction was not perfect. I endorse all the positive reviews, especially by SayuriKagome below. The ending is totally unexpected but very satisfying at the same time. The illusive devil incarnate had to be dealt with somehow. Everything failed and there was only one solution. And this is as much as I can say.

Underlying theme throughout; links each episode... Love the character development and dynamics. Some episodes were very nerve racking, but that the point, right? Enjoy watching this drama!

I really enjoyed this drama. The characters and plot was great. Some good acting and emotional, thrilling drama with a bitter sweet ending. Good wins over evil even if you loose some on the way... I just loved it continue the great work and great job for the subtitles.

I'd like to think somewhere there is an alternate universe with a happy ending to this drama. I really enjoyed it. The acting was great. The plots were good. There was nothing not to like except the horribly sad ending. I mean, seriously, I feel like after many hundreds of hours I've gotten pretty use to how Kdramas like to kill off their characters that we grow to love. BUT Sign took the cake. I can usually pick out what characters will die now, but I never saw that coming and I never have seen a character die quite like that before. It was excruciatingly painful.

But, this is one drama I can't watch the second time. The ending was too much. It's interesting because I don't recall ever feeling any connection to characters in American TV shows. But, wow, that changed with Korean dramas. Every aspect of talent that it takes to produce K-dramas is incredible. I'm hooked.

Many ppl complained about the law and the power of prosecutors, police and such. Most f the complaints were based on comparisons with US law. They forget that It is a drama based n the way things run in Korea. I enjoyed it fr what it was. I cried at the end. I felt so heartbroken. Why did the writer have to throw us that curve?! It was a BITTER-sweet ending.

but it feels like "Shining Inheritance" wherein everyone loved it but me... the cases weren't that captivating so it took me a while to finish. For a really good crime/ mystery one should feast eyes on Vampire Prosecutor.
