After the Banquet starring Shin Sung Woo, Ye Ji Won, and Bae Soo Bin
Today's best Korean actors and Japanese writers collaborate for the Telecinema film series. Released in theaters in Japan, aired on television in Korea, and now streaming online on DramaFever!
This film starring Shin Sung Woo (My Happy Home), Ye Ji Won (More Charming by the Day), and Bae Soo Bin (Shining Inheritance) is a fun Korean spin on the musical "Mamma Mia!" A second marriage brings all the groom's college alumni together to celebrate the wedding. The group of friends were comprised of all boys and one girl, and everyone expected the girl to show up. Instead, her daughter (played by Go Ah Sung) shows up in search for her father, who is among one of those men. Written by Yokota Rie (Gokusen, One Liter of Tears) and directed by Kim Yoon Chul (Que Sera Sera, My Lovely Samsoon)

I started watching this and it held my interest. It just wasn't great... I wanted it to have a little more substance for a grande finale at the end. It just didn't quite get there. I know the word that describes it for more is lukewarm.
I hesitated watching this movie because I did'nt like Mama Mia. The theme is like
that Mama Mia without the dancing, but also has a lot of the Big Chill written it the plot. Overall I enjoy the movie.
This was my first Korean movie/theatrical. What drew me too it was that it was the Korean spin on "Mamma Mia!" Within the first few minutes it was obvious this was going to be a spin without the musical flare, and very little humor. It felt dry and I was ready to give it up after the "I dos" where said.
Like a true Korean Drama a girl comes seeking her father after her mother passes away. Setting the tone for a story about regret. What kept me watching was the view we got into the lives of old college friends 15 years later. It's clear why all the actors are referred to as the best in the movie summary, they all have clear potential. Playing the dysfunctional friends well.
While I wouldn't suggest this as someones first Korean movie, I wouldn't tell you to pass it up either--After the Banquet had its own merits. There is some music. Even if this movie is a duller version of the upbeat "Mamma Mia!" I can promise this one has a happy ending too.
Too slow paced for my liking. Did not like it at all!....All about a girl searching for her dad..And the mom had apparently slept with everyone she knew..The movie forgot to include the milkman, postman and the gardner.
A very touching relaxing movie that is pleasant to watch!
Not too heavy, not to light with the drama, but just the right touch that made this easy to watch! All I can say to those who review before watching this movie is enjoy!
A nice break from the intensity of dramas! A simple story portrayed by real people in a believeable manner. There is one thing I wasn't so sure of however. The groom at the beginning of the movie/lead singer of the band(Kim Ji Hong) what the deal with his hair? it looked like it kept getting longer and longer till the end. Maybe I just seeing thing but check it out for yourself and watch it!
