Ji Sung (Swallow the Sun, Kim Soo Ro) and film/drama star Yum Jung Ah (Say You Love Me, Sad Movie) star in this drama that explores the dark side of wealth and the power of love in fighting the system. Two childhood friends grow up supporting each other through the difficulties of poverty, who meet again years later, stand by each other once again as they rise through the ranks of society.
After marrying into a wealthy business family, Kim In Sook (Yum Jung Ah)'s life becomes a living hell. Looked down on by her in-laws as a gold-digging intruder, she is pushed into the shadows. When her husband is killed in a helicopter accident, her mother-in-law takes away In Sook's beloved son. Enter Han Ji Hoon (Ji Sung), an old friend of In Sook, and powerhouse new family lawyer determined to put a stop to In Sook's mistreatment. In Sook finally retaliated by launching a bold plan to take over the family company, and Ji Hoon supports her no matter the cost. In the midst of their battle for survival, their hearts are drawn together in an passion that could end up costing them everything...

The word "family" in this drama is like a cast off concept. Rather business like decisions are made for everything which really scared me a bit. Like Misterbombastic said the ladies were very scary. Especially Kim in Sook. Yet I still liked her. And as for Han Ji Hoon, he had a pretty rough start in life. Also think of how InSook's life might have been had she not met Uhm Ki Do. Over all the drama started off very strongly but I was surprised at how they mellowed the ending. What happened to them? I'm guessing they escaped but to where? What about Byung Joon? The actors in general did very good jobs of playing the wicked side of human nature: greed.

This phrase used in the drama describes how I felt during the battle scenes between the female leads. These women are scaaaaaarrry 'no doubt'. This drama plunges you into a family of vipers where the matriarch made it clear that to go against the family was bad for your health. They should rename this drama the Godmother. This drama takes the term dysfunctional family to a whoooole new level. There were moments where you feel sympathy for the charactes but that quickly evaporates. From beginning to end this drama didn't disappoint. Although I was taken aback by some scenes, I still found myself thoroughly entertained.

Just finished, and it is in my top tier of favorite dramas. The OST is amazing!! The music enhanced the scenes wonderfully! I like how the drama ended to a degree. I think the writers were smart not to beat themselves by having a revengeful ending, but instead things fell into place in a sense. Worth the investment of time

I loved Attorney Han and sympathized with the youngest daughter. Everyone else I couldn't understand. Loyalty, I get that. Love and respect for family, I get that too. Sitting still for abuse, power struggles, and small and large manipulations is mind boggling. Thoroughly entertaining, well-written scripts, and great filming. Three cheers for the cast and crew who made this. I hope I never meet people like these or marry into a family like this!

Hated every single character except the fat dude I think... Very disturbing! Hope the writer of this can't releate to the characters he created... lol THESE PEOPLE WHERE MONSTERS OF HUMAN BEINGS AND IT IS SAD TO EVEN IMAGINE OUR HUMAN RACE WITH PEOPLE LIKE THESE. They Were: THE TERRORISTS OF HIGH CLASS...
