Crime Squad starring Song Il Kook and Song Ji Hyo

Crime Squad is a reunion of sorts for Song Il Kook (A Man Called God) and Song Ji Hyo (Goong), as the Jumong stars once again team up--this time in a very different kind of drama.

Detective Park Se Hyuk, a man still tortured by the death of his daughter, meets Jo Min Joo, an aspiring reporter off to a rough start in the journalism field. As the gruff detective works hard to conquer his case load at work, he's also got his own personal issues to solve involving a dark history with the new precinct captain Jung Il Do, (Lee Jong Hyuk) that just may strain their working relationship. A police procedural and office drama filled with action and intriguing characters, Crime Squad is satisfying and engaging.

Whatever your reasons for watching Crime Squad, the character growth and tight-knit relationships will keep you coming back. Even if your sole motivation is more screen time of the uber-manly Song Il Gook, you will soon fall in love with the entire cast. They clearly have chemistry and work so well together (Song Il Gook & Song Ju Hyo worked together in Jumong, an excellent Kdrama). Some police behavior and interrogation techniques are...questionable, to say the least. It reminds me of an older American procedural, NYPD blue, with temperamental but well-intentioned detectives. Crime Squad delivers great storytelling, solid acting, and thought-provoking insights into how one decision can change the course of many human lives. A top pick for sure!

I'm a fan of both the handsome Song Il Kuk and beautiful Song Ji Hyo and so was happy to see them together again. Yes, although it's not perfect, the story lines were good and did not lag. Lots of drama and loads of action. Interesting mix in the supporting cast that made it even more watchable. Makes for truly enjoyable entertainment.

I was going to punch that Director in the face. How dare he talk to my Ji Hyo that way! EDIT: Got through the whole series in about 4 days. I loved how the stories and the characters all tied together. Overall good general plot and intriguing plot twists with interesting characters and character development. The lead actors were excellent. Song Il Kuk is a very dynamic actor and his work demonstrate great range. Ji Hyo is soooo cute and sweet. I fell for her characters quirky, innocent, tenacity. There were some weak parts and questionable scenes. Times where I thought 'why didn't she...' or 'did they have to...' or 'couldn't they he have just...' so not perfect by any means, but thoroughly entertaining. 4.5 of 5 for me

Watched because it is a SIG drama and it was well worth it. Cast is great. Story as usual in Kdramas does not waste any characters who all tie in down the line. The beginning had an unfortunate/distasteful part but after that it was very well written and entertaining.

Ok, don't read, because there is a spoiler alert. I was so bummed that Detective Jin was boosted. I loved her character, thought they could of really gone alot further with her character. Other than that, a really great drama. Lots of good story lines. Acting was a little cheesy at times but al around good drama. Love Song II Kuk in A Man Called God and thought he was great. Have some time, give this one a try.

This drama was good. There was enough suspense, enough thrill, good crime cases, and good acting. Romance wasn't really the highlight, but the plot certainly kept me entertained. It's not of the caliber of Iris but it's certainly a better alternative than boredom so don't hesitate to give it a try
