Looking for Dorothy starring Kim Young Ho and Park Shi Eun
A four-episode special drama, this tightly-written mystery stars Kim Young Ho (The Scarlet Letter) and Park Shi Eun (Empress Chun Chu) as two police officers on a desperate hunt for some missing children. Riveting and romantic, the drama follows the pair as they track down the evil in the heart of a community...
Park Yong Su (Kim Young Ho) is the brilliant captain of a special kidnapping rescue squad. Raised by a distant father after his mother died, he is emotionally crippled, and professionally driven after losing his partner on a case. When children begin to mysteriously go missing, he and his squad are called in to investigate. Na Gyeong Ju (Park Shi Eun) is a police detective who has harbored feelings for Yong Su for a long time. She volunteers to join the rescue squad in order to get closer to him. Both Yong Su and Gyeong Ju find themselves challenged in ways they didn't expect, however, as they struggle to find and rescue the missing children amid an atmosphere of growing tension and fear. A missing 10-year-old girl named Lee Su Ah (Dorothy) becomes the heart of the case...
The one moment that got me was Beom Jin's parents. I cannot imagine ever being in that position! It was a very sad moment. Overall, the drama is not bad if you like this genre. If you are looking for a lot of action, romance; forget it. This does not have it. Most of the characters I am seeing for the first time so as far as acting, the jury is still out.
It was okay, Not very fast pace, good story. I really like Kim Young Ho in 19, so that's why I decided to watch it. He's got that rough exterior about him, but he's a softy inside. Nice ending!
This drama has everything in one (e.g. suspense, romance, comedy, mystery, etc.). Not so much suspense or romance as drama, however. The plot is solid, but the depressing scenes get most of the screen time. The story centers around a broken home, so "drama" is the main theme. "Looking for Dorothy" is a mean for the drama of the parents to proceed and resolve. Overall, this is a very good drama (maybe not "very good" for people who are looking for more "action" than just "talk").
The most compelling theme was the relationship of the parents of the missing little girl. Theoverall story was on the level of a 'made for TV' movie. Not super great, but decent. But, I wouldn't use the terms 'riveting' or 'romantic' to describe the mood created by the story.
Though the background of this drama is a kidnapping and murder, the drama isn't really about them. It about relationships, parenting, and making wishes come true. The casting is well done and the story is kept light for such a serious subject.
The drama' writers need to do more research when they were writing a suspense / kidnapping drama like this one ...normally when you are dealing with kidnapping cases the first hours are very crucial to get clues .... and here all they do is talking and no action ,,, everything was boring... the main actor really killed this drama ...he had the same facial expression the entire drama .... he supposed to be the sharpest officer of the squad but I could not buy his character .... seriously it took him the entire day to reach the suspect's house ... it was day time when he found out who did it but because he had to deal with his own personal issues, he did not reach the suspect house till night fall. I just want to shoot him ..... >>*_*<<
