Filmmaker Hosup Lee returns with the second in his trilogy of documentaries on Korean military brides, AND THEREAFTER II. The film follows Ajuma, one of thousands of Korean women who married American servicemen and immigrated to the United States with hopes for a better life. Widowed, she leads an isolated existence in southern New Jersey. A former prostitute, Ajuma is alienated from both Korean and American society, and spends most of her free time on gambling trips to Atlantic City. The fascinating but foul-mouthed Ajuma unflinchingly recounts her past and speaks with scathing honesty on men and aging.
