The Moon that Embraces the Sun starring Jung Il Woo, Han Ga In, and Kim Soo Hyun

Entire series now available!

After a stunning success with Flower Boy Ramen Shop, Jung Il Woo returns in this fictional historical drama with Kim Soo Hyun and Han Ga In. Set in the Joseon dynasty, two brothers find themselves falling in love with a female shaman, who does not remember her noble past.

Lee Hwon (Kim Soo Hyun) is the Crown Prince, but he finds the role a burden to bear, he would rather have his older, more talented brother Yang Myung (Jung Il Woo) be the crown prince, but because Yang Myung is an illegitimate child he has no right to the crown. When Lee Hwon tries to escape the palace walls for a little adventure, he encounters Heo Yeon Woo (Han Ga In), the intelligent daughter of a nobleman. It's love at first sight for him, but Lee Hwon is also set to marry another nobleman's daughter, Bo Kyung. Little does Hwon realize, but Yang Myung is also falling for Yeon Woo.

Bo Kyung's father fears that Hwon may take action to make sure Yeon Woo will be his wife, and that will dampen his plans in gaining more power in the court. He orders the chief shaman to kill Yeon Woo, but the shaman realizes there is something special in Yeon Woo. The shaman fakes Yeon Woo's death, and then raises her far away from the palace. Yeon Woo loses her memory after suffering the shock of being buried alive, and she becomes Wol. When she returns to the palace, unrecognizable and as a shaman, she shakes up the court as Hwon and Yang Myung find themselves inexplicably falling in love with her again...

I'm not a huge fan of historial drama but because of Kim Soo Hyun, who I love his acting from Dream High, I decided to give this one a shot. Turns out, it didn't disappoint me and I was glad I watched it. Great storyline and acting. Although some parts could've been cut short but overall, I'm impressed.

Its good. AMAZNG PERFORMANCE BY THE CHILDREN. I just finished episode 6. Right now, I am not too fond with the adult actors either. :/ I felt like I could not get back into the mood anymore, but Ill adjust to it eventually.

This drama was really well written. The younger cast was amazing. Kim Soo Hyun as the king was a great performance. My only issue with this drama was the casting of Han Ga In as the adult female lead-- I found myself incredibly frustrated with her dull, wooden portrayal-- I could have gotten past the fact that she looked wayyyy older than the men, had her performance been strong...but the truth is that everyone else acted circles around her. That said, the remaining cast really did the story justice

this is a fictional story. i loved it. the young actors are really, really good. the show dwells on them. also i like the performance of Yang Mi Kyeong, Yeon Wu's mother. she's really touching. the story is solid and as always, i love the costumes... i give 4 stars 1/2. :D

The story kinda dragged in the middle for a while, making me lose a bit of interest.Excellent performance from the child cast which was semi ruined by the adult actors. Overall it could have been better.

This drama is so good. I would recommend it to everyone and their mother. The ending could use some tweaks, or a rewrite even, but overall, it's an emotionally gratifying drama that should not be missed. Kim Soo Hyun is unbelievable.

After ep 1 I was hooked. The young actors did such an AMAZING job setting up this drama. I must admit I was so attached to them I was saddened when the adult actors took over. It may be unfair to compare, but outside of the King, the adult actors didn't move me as much. All and all I really enjoyed this drama. I hope you will as well.
