Queen of Housewives Starring Kim Nam Joo, Oh Ji Ho, and Yoon Sang Hyun

Chun Ji Ae (Kim Nam Joo) has it all...in high school. Pretty and popular, she's the school's queen bee, while Yang Bong Soon (Lee Hye Young) is the exact opposite, the two are initially friends, until Ji Ae steals Bong Soon's crush, Han Joon Hyuk (Choi Chul Ho). Fast-forward to middle-aged married life, and their roles have been reversed. Ji-Ae married Ohn Dal Soo (Oh Ji Ho), a promising university graduate turned unemployed pushover, while Bong Soon married her high school crush, Joon Hyuk after Ji Ae dumped him, who is now a successful executive.

Dal Soo finally gets a shot at a decent job, where by chance, Joon Hyuk becomes his new boss. In addition to competition between the men in the workplace, Ji Ae joins a social wives club to support him, where she immediately thrives, and at the same time butts heads with ex-best friend, Bong Soon. Drama abounds when the foursome struggles to sort out a confusing mix of romance, friendship, and workplace politics.

Okay, I am thoroughly enjoying this drama. It starts kind of slow, and although the pace remains the same, the characters have become more interesting. Love the "fortune teller" lady......what a freak! And you can see that the main couple really loves each other and are very supportive even though she nags him and he's scared of her (LOL!).

After I finished Queen of Reversals all I read in reviews was how much better Queen of Housewives was. I couldn't wait to see it. Now, I'm wondering what the heck were those people watching? This drama was at times painful to watch. The naivete and sheer stupidity of the lead character was maddening. If I did a shot everytime I uttered, "OMG how dumb are you," or some form of it, I would have been drunk before the end of each episode. QoH is like the Korean version of Desperate Housewives with extra idiotic women. Every female character was a stereotype and not a good one. The actresses were good in their roles. Either the cast is a bunch of backstabbing conniving bitches or they're good actresses. Maybe both. The men were pretty good. My fave were 2 children. They were great. Don't get me wrong. I like backstabbing and a good layered story, but when almost the entire cast is up to something, you get a headache. Queen of H was good not great, and I don't believe it was better than Reversals.

By far, the most cohesive, mature, entertaining drama I have yet to see. The 20 episodes just flew by! The casting, story line, and acting are all pitch perfect. I LOVED THIS DRAMA!

I'm only up to Ep 04, and while some might say I should wait it out... I can't! It's a little too slow for my liking. I can imagine people liking it, but for me if I have to start skipping episodes or taking naps during some, it's probably not my cup of tea!

After enjoying Queen of Reversals, I began Queen of Housewives with high hopes. Disappointment followed. The story started dragging midway though so I skipped 6 or 7 episodes for the last one. I missed nothing by skipping them. The beehive of female activity in the Queen Apartment building got tedious after a while. The actors were talented but not well cast; in several supposedly same age couples, the wife was significantly older than the husband. Kim Nam Joo has both excellent acting abilities and great comedic timing; wish there was more of her work on dramafever.

I really enjoyed watching. Writer, director and the entire cast made this another good, lighthearted drama. Kim Nam Joo and Oh Ji Ho made a perfect couple

Liked it a lot, but liked the sequel (Queen of Reversals) even better. Great acting and plot.
