My Life's Golden Age starring Moon So Ri, Lee So Yeon, and Jin Yi Han

It's all about keeping the family together and staying sane in the face of life in this weekend drama which ran for 56 episodes. Starring Moon So Ri (The Legend), Lee So Yeon (Temptation of an Angel) and Jin Yi Han (Who Are You?), My Life's Golden Age follows the relationships between three siblings and their parents through romance, sibling rivalry, illness, marriage, careers and dreams both lost and attained. It showcases both familial and romantic relationships with wit and sparks.

When two previously divorced people get married and raise their children together, they name their children after the golden period of life, hwang-geum-ki, hoping that their children will reach this period in life sooner than they did. They have no idea what their children will have to go through before reaching hwang-geum-ki, however. Lee Hwang (played by Moon So Ri), the eldest daughter, has been married for five years with a daughter and a succesful career, but underneath she is anything but happy. When she runs into an old flame, she embarks on a reckless path.

Lee Geum, the second duaghter, has chronic myelogenous leukemia, a serious condition which constantly takes a toll on her life and happiness. Bright and cheerful, however, she pours her energy into her job as a track team coach, while secretly trying to repay her birth father's hospital bills.

Lee Ki (Jin Yi Han), the youngest son, succesfully graduated from med school and became an intern at a hospital, but his real dream is to become a musical actor. When he quits the hospital in order to take dance lessons, he must hide it from the rest of his family while dealing with his sisters' issues.

Enter Ko Kyung-Woo (Shin Seong-rok), a TV producer at a major network whose success has made him arrogantly indifferent to the troubles of others. When he and Lee Geum meet, sparks fly but can he learn to care about her, especially with her disease? Lee Ki, meanwhile, has another problem - he just might be falling in love with his sister-in-law...

No likable characters. Predictable ! Same ole same ole! But how can a woman under any circumstance marry a man who tells her she makes him nauseous and kissing her is like kissing a rock. These woman have no shame and if she marries him she deserves what she gets. Not even for money should she marry him. Don't complain when he treats you like shit. He warned you.

I read somewhere that this young people in this drama are like childadults ..The way I see it...Of cause they are with this kind of parents, they don't let them grow up or better word become adult..How many time have we seen in Korean drama when it come to the obsessed mothers..Sometime I see more of a lover then a mother..It doesn't matter how old the son is....This drama was OK...But I don't think it should has had 56 episode..30 or less would had been better....In many way it was drag to long..But I still recommend it..

This is by far one of the worst family dramas i have ever watched. Their behavior as mothers made them out to be mental cases; and their behavior towards their son's partners was despicable. The men are no source of real support to their partner either. If only we could see why the ill treatment would be worth it in the end, but there is no silver lining. If you can hang on, it gets a bit better after episode 45, it's still cliche and drags on with the overly dramatic....maybe it was the bottle of soju, but the antics actually made me laugh.

Men are so stupid when it comes to manipulative women and this drama is no different. What about the spanking with the baseball bat? one he's too old for that and two the kids today call 911 on you. This drama is really good. The mothers in this drama are in serious need of medical treatment. These guys play a lot of divide and conquer, great role playing. Tae-II's parents act like someone cheated on them. They believe that it was worst for her to cheat than him. There both equally at fault - no one wins and no one loses it happens all the time. I don't think of it as cheating I think it's one of life's journeys. What goes around comes around.

i don't know what a wretch is & i'm not sure where i heard it. i'm just taking it as an insulting word to describe her b/c she is so horrid. i didn't even realize who was actually related by blood. i thought the one that was the coach and the brother were related and the older one was a stepsister. i was shocked when that turned out to not be the case and its was kind of weird to think something different. i feel bad for geum for having to deal with that rude mother of his. she's actually remind me of the sister i was talking about when i first started this.

It was an OK drama until about episode 40 and then It became so repetitious and monotonous that as a viewer I lost interest in the characters and their lives. Episode 41-55 was just a stretching of the script to make 56 episodes. Thank goodness for fast forward.

I expressed what I think of this series in the Title...But of course my favorite character is Lee Guem. Whether it was the actress's story line or just the actress...She made this show. I also enjoyed seeing the veteran actors and the little girl too.

Up to episode 15 and still loven it. An earlier comment said they did not like this drama due to Geum's begging to get married. Did you really watch the show??? She wasn't begging for herself, she did not want to disappoint her parents. I like that she seems to care more about othes than herself and will continue to watch this show. Just finished the drama and wanted to update my review. This has been the longest dramae I have watched so far and I can not recommend it enough! The actors were outstanding and the story was perfect. I kind of wish that there was a second season that could have completed each story line a little more fully. I can not recommend this drama enough!! You will be missing a great story if you do not watch it.

Love all the characters. Very compelling melodrama mixed with honesty. I love the comedy and the average dysfunctional family drama. Story line is full of quip and surprise. Anyone who says this is a bad drama needs to watch it thru to the end first before giving a rating! I can see these actors have done well in other dramas!

The scriptwriter is really adept in describing the characters dealing with the happenings in their lives, how we can deal with Love, Hate,...! A wonderful drama that can get our tears but also our laughs! Really love this!♥ (If you get discouraged by the 1st ep., please just keep watching because you can only see good developments after the first few episodes!)
