My Sister starring Song Yoon Ah, Kim Sung Soo, and Heo Young Ran

Starring Song Yoon Ah of On Air and Kim Sung Soo of Full House and Bad Love, this compelling drama tells the tale of a brave young woman who fights for her family to survive in the wake of tragedy, the lessons she and her family learn along the way, and the man who helps them in all their trials.

Headstrong Yoon Seung Joo (played by Song Yoon Ah) has always had her way. The daughter of a wealthy father, she single-handedly raises her brothers after their mother dies. While studying in grad school as an art student, however, her father suddenly disappears, and her life turns upside down as the family is cast into abject poverty. Seung Joo is not about to give up however, and rallies her immature brothers to survive.

Meanwhile, her younger cousin, Yoon Soo Ah (Heo Young Ran), who has grown up in her shadow, cherishes a quiet hatred of her, all the more so because the man she wants, Kim Gun Woo, is in love with Seung Joo instead. Kim Gun Woo (Kim Sung Soo) is a kind university lecturer who loves Seung Joo but has refused to pursue her for fear of dragging her down into his poverty. When her family is impoverished, he quietly helps in whatever way he can, standing by her side in spite of her fierce pride.

Soo Ah will do anything to stop their pairing. Kim Gun Sae (Kang Kyong Joon), Gun Woo's brother, an avaricious young man who falls for the poor tough girl of his neighborhood, completes the quartet of young people who battle with romance, sorrow, and wealth or lack thereof, and learn what's worth fighting for in life.

Must watch and see to appreciate...... If families can take care of their elders as these folks did, what a great world this would be! :) LOVE IT!

This is a must see drama. It's long and you can be tempted to skip episodes but be careful because there are many jewels you won't want to miss. Especially the great words of Great Grandfather; he is hilarious. The last 8 or so episodes are excellent; the drama really comes together and rewards you.

i liked this story b/c it had all the elements of a family. i love the greatgrandpop. he was played wonderfully. this show had parts when it was funny, sad, and the characters made you angry. the sister in the kim family was the best out of the bunch. it was long but worth it. watch it and you may like too.

All of the main characters in the story develop, grow and change through the events of the story....not one character is a loose thread and they all combine to make a rich tapestry of a show. Warning... it takes about 12 episodes to really this this to a point where you: 1. Really start to get emotionally attached to the characters; 2. Stop wanting the bitch slap the lead female character. One last thing.... the great grandfathers reaction to a stressful situation by reciting in Japanese the Oath of Allegiance to the Emperor was a master stroke in the story.

As I've said before the mothers in these drama's suck. How can a mother whose son is in his late 20's or early 30's tell him to break up with the love of his life. Weather the relationship works or not it's up to them, " better to have loved and lost then to never have loved at all" These people crack me up there violent as all get out. They keep slapping their grown sons, which makes me continuely laugh, They have alot of confidence that they won't get hit back. The great grandfather speaks nothng but wisdom he's fantastic.

It's sad that K cannot comeup with any other ideas--they are all same storyline-K people live in Fairyland! Watched first 3 episode--same story, leading actress is obnoxious, leading actor is (is he a man?) slow-like a bookworm and i fall asleep waiting for him to speak! One star is too good for this Drama!
