Damo Starring Ha Ji Won, Lee Seo Jin, and Kim Min Joon

A powerful and moving drama about one woman's quest to attain both honor and love.

After her noble family is overthrown and separated, Chae-ok (Ha Ji Won) becomes a servant in another noble household. There she is trained to serve the young master Hwangbo Yoon (Lee Seo Jin). When Yoon becomes a commander in the police force, Chae-ok becomes a damo, or policewoman, under him. The two quickly develop a complex relationship, but are held back by social ties. When Chae-ok is assigned to infiltrate a counterfeit ring as an undercover detective, she finds herself drawn to Jang Sung-baek (Kim Min Joon). She learns the mysterious, charismatic Jang Sung-baek is not the leader of a counterfeit ring but a guerilla army to overthrow the Emperor. Now, Chae-ok is torn between her duty to the law and her attraction to a rebel leader, and the love of two very different men...

This drama got me literally begging for more. Before watching I was like "14 episodes, I'm too lazy for this". After watching I was like "WTH, only 14 episodes? I need more!" Probably one of the most melodramatic dramas I've ever seen. I especially love the soundtracks. All of them are just as heartbreaking and dramatic as the drama itself. The ending is, no need to say, super tragic. I agree with some viewers that the commander's death is not necessary, but his death actually resolves everything and ends the drama in the most reasonable way.

the drama started off pretty nicely... it is strange mix of realistic special effects and fantastic fight scenes in the trees.. there is a lot of cable work Hong Kong style. u may like it or not. i personally don't mind. it gets boring around episode 10. the passage in the cave was too long... the final scene though is really good. i liked it. overall i give 3 stars and half...

Lee So JIn is SUPERB!!! His acting is GREAT!! You can fill the emotion deep in your heart and he really touches you. He is really good expecially at Yi San. Though its short, it's definitely worth it, The story is incridebly good that I can't wait for the next episode. I never cried like this before, very touchy especially at the end where the both find out that they're brother and sister. Oh, I want to see more on Lee So Jin.

after only 4 episodes. Usually, it would take me 1 or 2 episodes to get hooked on a good drama. With this one, however, I actually got interested with just Episode 1 ... then it went downhill rapidly. Character development is very poor because no reasons are ever given for the "why" and "how." The writer, producer and director should have concentrated more on developing the characters and storyline rather than on those "fighters flying through the air, over rooftops, etc." As a few viewers have commented on, a person can take just so much of all that "flying" stuff. Boring...boring....

Let's face it, even with attractive leads, superb fighting scenes, heart-breaking love, I just don't feel like watching this show again. I greatly admire the entire show for its story and cinematic quality, but I don't want to experience the loneliness, suffering, sadness again. I need more happiness to sustain my life. But this is one I will treasure the experience for having watched it and keep it in my memory archive. My rating is 4.5

Despite having stumbled on the spoilers, I didn't mind because this drama was suspenseful from beginning to end. Came very close to the impact Chuno had on me, with its action scenes, romantic triangle and beautiful soundtrack. All the actors were magnificent, from the leads through to all the supporting cast. I looked up the dramas for three of the actors for viewing right now! The pace was just right. Will definitely see it again and recommend to friends. Saludos desde Puerto Rico.

I've cried my fair share of tears when watching dramas, but this one takes the cake. The plot was definitely interesting, but during a few episodes I was literally sobbing. I don't want to spoil anything, but I recommend NOT watching this before you go to bed. I woke up with an extremely puffy face the next morning!

Good acting for the most part. First 4 to 5 episodes a little bit confusing, but story became organized the rest of the way. I like the short 14-episode series as there were few "unecessary", goofy, and time-consuming subplots. Did not appreciate the "flying" martial arts though. More realistic fight scenes (ala Yi San or Jumong) would have been better.
