December Fever Starring Uhm Jung Hwa and Kim Nam Jin
Bold, witty, and ultimately bittersweet, December Fever is the story of a married woman who falls for a younger man, only to discover that he is dying. Film star Uhm Jung Hwa of Seducing Mr. Perfect and 2009 drama The Man Who Can't Get Married stars as Oh Young-shim, a model housewife whose career-minded doctor husband has ignored her for years. When she meets Park Jung-woo (Kim Nam Jin of successful 2007 drama Fly High) one day, he sparks in her something she hasn't felt in a long time, and when the charming and good-looking Jung-woo sets out to seduce her the two embark on a dangerous affair. Both their families become concerned, however, for Jung-woo doesn't have long to live, and their relationship will bring both joy and tragedy to their lives.
Refreshing and deeply moving, December Fever is a must-see, a drama unusual in its plot and concept.

I can't imagine living the life she was living. Not appreciated by anyone. Even her son had begun to see her like the family did. Her husband"s family were beyond cruel. She found that happiness she had never felt before. Was it worth it? Yes it was! She found a man that told her he loved her. Even if it was for a short period of time. She felt what it was like to love and be loved. Why couldn't the husband realize he loved her sooner? All the heartache would never have happened.
why did she have to fall for a guy who was gonna die? knowing it was gonna end like that made it hard for me to watch but that's why it was so good. when he found that out i cried for every episode after that. it didn't say what really happened to her after he died though, not really. i like to know b/c my mind comes up with crazy things like her being all hermit-like in that cabin & she never comes out except for food or for church.
I watched this a ways back and I only remember that the ending had me in tears-ugly tears. I wasn't annoyed by the actress as I see many reviewers are, but I'm a total sap for romance, and if the romance or bonding is good enough I can overlook anything
How do I begin. This drama portray women as idiots. I really would leave that man with the children and go off with the younger man dieing or not. See my kids on holidays, every other weekend and make major decisions along with my ex. in my children's life as they are growing up. Yeah, it can be done and I would tell all the rest of that family to kiss off. They don't deserve her presence in their stupid lives.
i HATE EPISODE 16 SPEEDING THE ENGLISH subtitles where I cant read them.
how do i write a review to a drama that i had a strange reaction to, not saying i hated it but i was piss from episode 1-17.....WTF how did she stay in that environment for 10 years, not only was she the maid, the cook.baby sitter but she was also the village idiot. every one of the in-laws( crypt keeper) had there way with her, she had no self esteem and the jack-ass husband did nothing to help her..i am so piss at the ending Joung shim have lost your mind leaving your kids for a dieing man. who does that?
Overall, it's 3 stars for me. I was very disappointed at the end of the drama. It also, I believe, gives a total negative view on women. Young Shim was portrayed as an ignorant woman with no pride or ambition, that is "blinded" by love which causes all her misfortunes. Her mother-in-law is an arrogant and aggravating woman, that if you ask me, would be categorized as a monster-in-law. Both of Young Shim's sister-in-law's are self centered women that care more about money and their place in the social latter than of their supposed loved ones.
Pretty much, if you have nothing else to see you should watch this. It will make you cry, laugh, get mad, and occasionally want to skip ahead.
Are there really families like that in Korea ??? What a scum bag of a husband to let her get abused like that by his family.I'm glad she found someone that showed her what LOVE is really about. His eyes show so much LOVE and PAIN. It's heartbreaking. A lot better than most American stories. There could have been better dialog between the the lovers.
