Good Job, Good Job starring Uhm Ki Joon and Chae Rim

Uhm Ki Joon, riding high on positive reviews and a Best Supporting Actor Award for his role in The World They Live In, returns alongside drama staple Chae Rim (All About Eve, Dal Ja's Spring, ) in this fresh, funny comedy. Good Job, Good Job, also known as Job Well Done, is a delightfully endearing drama about a woman who overcomes the odds to find love and happiness in modern-day society.

Lee Kang Joo (Chae Rim) is a single mother who was abandoned by her previous boyfriend, Yoo Ho Nam (Kim Seung Soo). When his father's business fails, Ho Nam abruptly leaves for the United States, never realizing that Kang Joo is pregnant with his child. Choi Seung Hun (Uhm Ki Joon), a fitness club owner and the son of Kang Joo's employer, has been half in love with her ever since she tutored him when he was young, and begins pursuing her. But Kang Joo, not trusting his playboy ways and not willing to open up her heart again, continually rejects him.

When Ho Nam, returning to Korea years later as a doctor with an upper-crust fiance in tow, runs into Kang Joo unexpectedly one day and realizes her situation as a single parent, he wants to rekindle the flames of their old romance. Now, Kang Joo is caught between the light-hearted younger Seung Hun and Ho Nam, the father of her son.

This guy never gives up on getting the girl he loves!!! Charming! From the ratings I guess people don't really like love stories when they get messy. That's REAL life, even if the things that happen are different. I'm just a sucker for a love story!

I watched this drama and for the acting alone I would give it five stars, however I have never in my life seen more hypocrisy going on between a group of people. The thought of someone who is a man-stealing, home-wreaking woman who is scolded by so many passing judgement on a women who was abandoned after finding out that she was pregnant and chose to keep her child is beyond mind blowing. I am not say that Byul's mother was without fault. Lying and keeping secrets and allowing it to come out in that manner and then to continue to lie when the truth is known by everyone only because she wants to protect her daughter is beyond crazy. All the adults in this drama need countless hours of therapy. Driving a child to that extent is unforgivable. This is what happens when selfish delusional people think for themselves. Great acting but very dark writing. I love the little girl she is by far the best child actress I have seen on here. Keep up the good work Byul.

If you like over-the-top crying scenes in every episode, this is for you. With the exception of the little girl (she showed remarkable talent), I just didn't get this storyline at all. Not one of the characters was barely likable. Comedy? The women- young and old- were portrayed as ridiculous, groveling, hysterical, cruel, slattern, conniving, lying hypocrites. Watchable? Skipped, scanned, groaned and went to the end just to be able to write about the entire fiasco. This was the worst kdrama in the history of Korea, let alone kdramas. -5 for all of them except the kid, she gets a +5.

Thought it was a really thought provoking look at the good girl gone bad gone good again. I was offended that this was listed under romantic comedy when it is so depressing! I had to fast forward through many of the last 10 episodes to make it to the end. I probably wouldn't watch it again but I do love Uhm Ki Joon!

All the women in this drama are hypocrites. Only the cute little girl with the adorable hair style saves this drama. Her mother and her "love" are the epitome of selfishness and they do not have the best interest of that little girl at heart. They lie and want to deprive her of growing up with her biological father whom she likes. This is unforgivable and I hope they both suffer for doing this to an innocent child! Why should she not have a relationship with her father even if her mother marries another man. This makes no sense! Aigoo!

i do that to see if its worth watching all the other episodes if the ending is good. i read alot of bad reviews before watching it so i was unsure about it. had to watch 39 and 40 but i liked how it ended and now i'm gonna watch the rest of it. i don't know what the big deal was about about being byul's dad was. people have two dads these days even i do and i was 21 when it happened so what's the big deal.

The interaction between the Uhm Ki Joon and Chae Rim and the little girl is very good. I really liked how the love between the two leads kept deepening each time they encountered issues. Mother Lee, hurt her children the most by trying to force them to live life in her way instead of the way they wanted to. She was blinded by her stubborn and caused her children a lot of harm. Uhm mother while asking the world to over look her adultery cannot find in her heart to look at an unwed mother. All in All really good acting.

Unless you like the VERY typical k-drama, you're going to have a hard time getting through each episode. A self-sacrificing heroine who lets everyone and their mother walk all over her. She has a good guy who loves her dearly and her mother, but doesn't know how to properly protect her from his own family. Then there is a bunch of bad seeds who should be struck by lighting, simply for hurting an innocent child. Seriously writer, why not give them at least a bit of their own medicine?

This story is about people trapped in social expectations and hypocrisy. Chae Rim and Uhm Ki Joon both give strong performances. The problem is the writing. The story is so suffocating that one episode is all you can handle at a time. One moment a character is someone persecuted for their love then they flip and throw the same irrational judgment on someone else. They change their positions so often it's hard to take any of them seriously. Kim Seung Soo's character as the returning ex-boyfriend is especially ridiculous and irrational. The intolerance towards single mothers that this drama suggests is embarrassing and frustrating. Every episode is so heavy and discouraging that even the characters we should be rooting for start doing such stupid things. In the end, this series is an exercise in frustration that makes pulling gum out of your hair seem relaxing. Give it a pass unless you're into extremely self punishing characters who slap each other at the drop of a hat.
