Shoot for the Star starring Jun Do Yeon and Jo In Sung
Jun Do Yun, a classic drama and film actress (Lovers in Prague, The Housemaid) and Jo In Sung (What Happened in Bali) head a drama about two lost souls who find purpose in each other. Lee Seo Jin (Lovers) also stars in this uplifting romance from the director of Stairway to Heaven.
Sora (Jun Do Yun) and Sung Tae (Jo In Sung) are drifting through life. Sora is 29 years old and has hit a dead end. She has no job and little likelihood of getting one, having never graduated from college. She dreams of true love, but has yet to find anyone. Sung Tae grew up an orphan and dreams of becoming a famous movie star, hoping to find the foster family he lost track of years ago. When Sora meets Sung Tae, currently working as a waiter, she is drawn to something about him. She takes him under her wing and begins acting as his manager, and she and her brother, a talent manager, launch his career. As Sung Tae becomes more and more famous, he struggles with ever-greater difficulties however, especially those springing from his own dyslexia. Sora supports him through everything, refusing to give up. Will Sung Tae see the possibility for love in the warm-hearted woman beside him? And even if he does, will society allow the famous actor to date his own manager?
Congratulations for presenting a story with a functional illiterate. However, having watched only the 1st couple of episodes, I got to say this story stinks. The lead female character is selfish, uncaring and screechy, She exploits her brother and her friends who for some reason still care for her. Byun Jung Soo is great as usual.
It has been a while since I watched a really good drama. This drama was so great. I've mentioned before that Jo In Sung is a great actor. The storyline really pulled me in from the beginning and the episodes flew by...the plot never dragged. I loved the relationship between the main characters. I've read that Soo Ra was annoying but I found that her character grew up rather quickly. I first saw actress Jun Do Yeon in Lovers in Prague but I loved her in this drama. I felt really bad for Ba Dah and it showed how much love he had for Soo Ra and Sung Tae. I couldn't get over him and Mi-Ryun...there were so cute together. This drama is funny, touching, heartwretching. Definitely not to be missed.
Disappointed. Couldn't get myself to finish it. the main female actress has a screeching voice and it really took away from the feel of the show. I've seen her in Lovers in Prague and really liked her a lot. So, it must be the character that she is playing. Personally, this show has no interest.
They had great selection of cast, the story line was different and interesting. Jo In Sung is so cute and handsome, not to mention great actor, Jun Do Yeon's acting is great; although, her loud voice was very annoying. I just couldn't stand Lee Seo Jin and Hong Eun hee, they were both evil!!! This was worth watching. I loved the main song "In My Dream", does anyone know who the singer is?
The main character (female lead) yelled and screamed her lines practically through the entire drama! They could've picked a different girl for the part. But overall it was a good drama and a bit entertaining. Mr Dimples was GREAT! :)
I could relate this to a cram session for finals. While utterly engrossing at the time, this is completely forgettable the next day. I finished watching this and to be honest, I really can't remember what happened. I'm having a hard time deciphering why this is forgettable. I remember Jo In Sung, Byun Jung Soo and the props more than the story line; balls being thrown at a giant sign, a tape recorder, and ........ I'm surprised PETA hasn't shown up to say something about all the pimp coats.
great drama! kept me wanting to watch more and more (like a lot of korean dramas) but ba dah pissed me off so much. hes such an idiot. thats the only complaint i have about this drama
I watched this drama because of Jo In Sung & thanks to him, I could finish till the end, if not....!! because I couldn't find the female lead attractive! I admire Jo In Sung & Lee Seo Jin (the bad guy here but very good acting, even though I love him more in Yi San). The storyline is predictable, nothing much interesting! The only interesting thing in this drama is only Jo In Sung!

NEW SERIES! Drama Special Added!
One of the highest rated dramas in the past decade, Baker King Kim Tak Goo follows one young man's quest to overcome his past and, against all odds, overcome and find happiness.
Stylish, bittersweet, and lovely, starring two leads with chemistry so intense that it led to an offscreen relationship, the drama was an easy hit and is not to be missed.
A delightfully twisty story of a woman who, choosing to marry beneath her, falls from princess-status to peasant-status, and then rises again like the proverbial firebird.
