A fun, smartly paced drama about two broadcast journalists who team up to hunt down the truth and expose corruption, Spotlight was written by Lee Ki Won (White Tower) and stars Son Ye Jin and Ji Jin Hee, both much-loved drama and film stars. Son Ye Jin (A Moment to Remember, Personal Taste) is a rookie journalist who makes up in passion what she lacks in experience, while Ji Jin Hee (Dong Yi, Soo) is her gruff but dedicated mentor. What happens when a rookie reporter and a charismatic veteran fall in love?
Oh Tae Suk (Ji Jin Hee) is a dedicated television reporter with strong morals and a harsh temperament. Seo Woo Jin (Son Ye Jin) is a rookie reporter who beat out fierce competition to join the news station, struggling to survive in the fast-paced environment. As Tae Suk notices her potential and takes her under his wing, and the duo works as a team to track down injustice and expose corruption in the government and big business. The drama traces the rise of Woo Jin as she puts her life on the line for her jobs to rise to the top, and maybe fall in love along the way.

Very good suspense, light and intense parts into TV news. Good acting. Good story. A stretch at end but ok. Was waiting to see who would end up with who.? Yuhee was cool enough for Tae...? Jin Goo showed his weight in 'Swallow T.S'. and worthy of filling roll with Sojin . Ji Jin Hee could do a 'Couple Or Trouble' type show, after what he showed in 'He Who Can't Marry'. Son Ye Jin was enjoyable to watch again. like in Personal Taste'. All did good show

I really enjoyed watching this drama. However, I would've liked to have seen some love moments between Sojin and Tae? Ji Jin Hee is so hot......

I felt compelled to watch this drama bc I was curious to see Son Ye Jin(from Summer scent) in a different role and the synopsis wasn’t too shabby either; however her co-star is more exceptional than she is in this drama. Though love was not the premise, the plot was still solid because it authentically delved into the world of broadcasting. It did a great job portraying what veracious reporters/journalists look like. They diligently, cautiously, and audaciously embark in the quest of news worthy stories with the sole objective to reveal the truth while at times risking their lives. I like this drama also because it makes a pertinent point of whether or not the press is truly free and uncorrupt in this so-called democracy we live in. There is so much we are unaware of but can we obliviously trust the news nowadays?

This drama is new to me as far as kdramas go, but I like it!! This is also why I enjoy kdrama ,it's different ,good cast,story line is believable and just a touch of close relationship with the leads,but not enough to pull you away from the whole story!! Great one to me!! so,back to another dose of spotlight!!

If you're looking for romance, this is not your story. What you will find is passion and dedication within the broadcasting arena. I grew to love this story as it progressed; although there were a few non-realistic moments, it was overall good story telling. Loved the music especially the "battle" sounding ballard..

For me its all about the romance and how the characters interact. Kissing aside you see hints of possible romances(w/ a triangle) but did not go anywhere. Ending was weak if the bad guys were so powerful and smart to make it to the final episode would they really break like that? The lead female had a confidence that lasted over half the series only to break in one episode does not seem to hold true. Not a rewatch for me.

The story takes off right from the start and drew my attention. I think this movie deserves allot more credit. I loved it.

pero se me olvidó escribir mi comentario, ya que hace muchos meses atrás que vi el drama. Fue agradable, pero no perfecto..No hubo romance, pero sí admiración de ambas partes. Soy BORICUA !
