The Romantic Movement: Seoul starring Min Hyo Rin

DramaFever, in conjunction with producers Cosmic StatioN, brings you the online premiere of The Romantic Movement: SEOUL, a series of short films. A team of South Korean directors, including Kang Chul Woo of Romantic Island and Park Hyun Jin of Lovers of 6 Years (6 Nyeon-jjae Yeonae-jung), each direct one short film following the romantic (mis)adventures of a young woman in Seoul.

Based on Swiss writer Alain de Botton’s novel The Romantic Movement, the four short films make up the story of Hyo Rin (“Alice” in the original story), played by actress of the same name Min Hyo Rin (Triple). Hyo Rin must confront the pain of losing love and find the strength to love again. Supporting cast includes Yeo Wook Hwan (Ja Myung Go), Sohn Byung Wook (Private Eye), hip-hop artist Defconn, and Jung Jun Il of rock band Mate.

The Romantic Movement: SEOUL

My Bloody Valentine, parts one and two

My Sweet Blanket, parts three and four

The first 2 episodes were interesting. Unfortunately the remainder episodes took on a different approach giving off to much confusion & the ending was a joke. The only good thing was actress Min Hyo Rin's performance.

Boring, tasteless, waste of time, no plot, no direction, empty scenario with no end is sight. Meaniless waste of time. Girl is cute, nothing else mattered. Seems someone had alot of time and money to waste on a lot of nothing for no reason.

It started off with promise, but fell flat at the very end. Very unfortunate when the acting was good and the idea was great.

Beautifully shot with great music that really fits the story. Reminds me of indie films, but with South Korea's take on romance. The conversations between characters were realistic and interesting. Like, how someone says they're happily single, but are always secretly looking for that special someone. Not sure if the story itself went anywhere though, so I'm only giving it 3 stars.

But not great either. Would have liked to know who gave her her shoe back. Thought the end before the end was a little depressing. It was well-executed, I just prefer more solid endings to a movie with characters having grown and/or accomplished something.

I am not sure what the point of this was. Definitely an art film, just not my kinda art film. It had a beginning, a middle, and not-so much of an ending. I am giving it 3 stars because it kept my interest enough to watch all of it.

I'm not that impressed, but the acting and the storyline was something I liked. I'm not that sure if it's that great or "mind blowing". I would have liked to see more.
