Personal Taste, a thoroughly endearing comedy starring two of Korea's brightest stars tells a story of confused love and sexuality. Lee Min Ho, superstar for his breakout role in 2009's smash hit Boys Over Flowers, finally returns alongside drama staple Son Ye Jin (A Moment to Remember, Summer Scent) in this quirky drama.
After being dumped by her long-time boyfriend, Park Kae In (Son Ye Jin), a furniture designer and the daughter of a famous architect, is convinced she will never love again. Enter Jeon Jin Ho (Lee Min Ho), straight-laced (and straight) architect who needs to scout out her house for his latest business deal. After Kae In assumes him as gay during an early encounter, Jin Ho capitalizes on the opportunity to pretend to be gay in order to move in with her. Once there, he gradually embarks on a mission to make over the tomboy/slob, but in all the mayhem of the makeover and hiding his true orientation, the unexpected happens and he begins to fall for her. What will happen when, despite strange boundaries, these two fall for each other?
I'm on episode 11 and I have to say I like Lee Min Ho better in this one than in BOF. The main characters are really good and the story isn't too bad. Of course there are the typical misunderstandings that you usually find in a Korean Drama but that's what makes it so good!
Let's break it down, this drama centers around an emotionally stumped architect who's ambiguous when it comes to the truth and a gullible, fearful furniture designer who wears her feelings on her sleeve finding love in the most peculiar of circumstances. Adding to this confusion, one schools the other to be brave and indifferent to love while the other teaches what it means to love. Huh! exactly my thoughts when I first started watching this drama. Better put, it's like the Wizard of Oz meets Sex in the City. Here you have Park Kae In who lacks courage and Jeon Ji Ho who lacks a heart. What it boils down to really is a drama that gives us an infusion of laughter, romance and sexual high jinks. Needless to say I enjoyed every minute.
From Boys Over Flowers to another hit. i enjoyed his acting as well as the main actress. Apple/Apology: From Boy's Over Flowers when Jan Di apologized to Jun Pyo, she gave him an apple which Jihoo took a bite of. Yes its similiar but it done diffrently. For me the best episode was 12 . There is drama and comedy but don't expect to find BOF part 2. Lee Min Ho has changed in front of our eyes for the better. You MUST watch!!!!!
A little too typical though - the plot is not entirely thrilling by the time you're halfway through. Watch it for the adorable romance and comedy-infused scenes. I ended up fast forwarding through the rest.
Personal Taste was MY first taste of Korean Dramas. And the rest, as they say, was history! I didn't know what I was getting into from the first episode, but before I could process what was going on, I was clicking on the next one, and the next one...From the storyline to the cast to the plot twists, things came together and created the perfect blend of addicting, addicting storytelling!
This is my 3rd time watch this show and every time I do, I don't skip any episode. And I love EVERY PART OF IT, but one of my favorite and I find VERY cute is in ep. 6 when: she get... her monthly, he goes/get her what she need, looks up thing that will help her, get her medication and rubs her stomach. Since I'm a girl I find that VERY cute and I would want that in a boyfriend and a husband.I love each moment of this show!!! :D
This was overall a pretty good show. To me in the beginning it was slow but drives in quickly to being dramatic :) Also I love Lee Min Ho as an actor :) minus the ending of BOF because of who she ended up with -.-
