Bad Guy starring Kim Nam Gil, Han Ga In, Kim Jae Wook, and Oh Yun Soo

Visually stunning and immersive, Bad Guy is a dark family/revenge drama tracing the story of a man bent on the destruction of one family.

Shim Gun Wook (Kim Nam Gil) has an ordinary happy childhood - until one day he discovers he is the illegitmate son of the head of the Haeshin Company. Taken away from his adoptive parents, he joins the Hong family, where he is treated like a prince. When a DNA test reveals that he is not President Hong's son however, he is unceremoniously cast out of the house. Fate deals another blow when tragedy strikes his adoptive parents on the same night, and Gun Wook is left with no one to turn to. He leaves for the US only to return twenty years later, bent on revenge. The Haeshin family fall into his carefully constructed plot one by one, and only the man taken in by the Hongs as the President's real son, Tae Sung, begins to suspect him. This is a grown up drama. It was the most amazing, exciting, moving, romantic, sad thing I have watched. I really fell in love with Gun Wook and the ending was just so sad that I actually cried. And its been a good 2 1/2 months since I first watched this and I'm still getting teary eyed thinking about it. This drama was just so well written and the amazing actors. I only watched this because of Kim Jae Wook, but Kim Nam Gil has become a favorite of mine.

This is an excellent drama! The soundtrack is awesome, the acting is excellent. I love Kim Nam Gil since Queen Seon Deok and I love Nose Dot as well. Her nose is so perfect :P The story is superb and well developed. Too bad about the obligation Korean men have.

I love this drama. It is not your typical drama with a silver lining at the end. It has a great theme of consequences of revenge and forgiveness. In reality the good guys don't win most of the time. The wicked at times do get away scott free of their crimes. The sadness is that the innocent are harmed and some can't come back to the way they once were from the carnage. This drama left me wanting more... I wanted to know what happened to Hong Tae Song (played by Kim Jae Wook). He seemed to be the most tragic victum of all. At least Shim Gum Wook (Kim Nam Gil) had recieved love in his life. I wished that Hong Tae Song would have some peace, the abuse he recieved from his fake mother was just too much. The witch was cold. She made me want to put hands on her a couple times.

Very unique!!! Expected the unexpected. I didn't really care much for the female lead (I guess that she was sorta underplayed) but the male lead will take your breath away and leave you rooting for him till the end! They should have titled it Horrible Mom after watching it you will see why. (Hope I didn't spoil it for you)

misterbombastic took the words right out of my mouth. I was enthralled until the end and I loved the interaction between Gun Wook and Tae Rae, it seemed real, yet Gun Wook was an enigma until the end. bad ending because for such a well written drama, it was frankly lazy on the writer's part. I love the music too, especially "stuntman", "Dogma" and "Prologue"

I don't understand the appeal to the main character,so the main couple didn't work for me.None of the reasons for revenge made sense to me.I mean the boy raised in the family obviously had a much worse life, being abused his entire life,so I didn't understand why he was targeted.I only liked the second male lead and didn't care much for anyone else.overall the drama would've been better if the writers crafted A main character I could remotely care about, because by the end of the series I did not care for his death.

Dark, tragic and at times disturbing. This Kdrama is not for the weak of heart. A masterfully written storyline with an array of talented actors. I was especially drawn in by the relationship between Gun Wook and Tae Rae. Her love for Gun Wook although shaky in the beginning stood uwavering to the end. I strongly recommend watching this drama.

they had to drop from 20 epis to 17 cuz Kim Nam Gil went into the military. i'm on epi 14 now but with all the hoopla about the ending i am not looking forward to seeing it. i hate sad/bad endings to dramas. it makes me not want to watch to begin with. nam gil's performance is so exquisite i can't help myself tho. hope to see him in new dramas soon.

Brilliant Tragedy with a capital T. I bled for GW from the first several episodes. This drama still has me sobbing for the human condition, it was so well done. (OK, plot holes and inconsistencies included; nobody's perfect.) It's awesome coming-full-circle-ness: starting and ending with Lil Sis; the whole question of identity at the beginning and at the end; the water at the beginning and at the end; the treatment of death at the beginning and at the end. Yes, I'll definitely watch this again. Congrats to the writers. OH! And the hauntingly beautiful OST! Saludos desde Puerto Rico.
