Obstetrics and Gynecology starring Jang Seo Hee, Go Joo Won, and Song Joong Ki

Award-winning actress Jang Seo Hee (Temptation of Wife) stars alongside Go Joo Won of Kim Soo Ro and Suh Ji Suk. Rising young actor Song Joong Ki (Sungkyunkwan Scandal, Will It Snow at Christmas?) adds even more talent to this story that tracks the medical and human drama in a hospital's obstetrics department.

Seo Hye Young (Jang Seo Hee) is a talented second-year obstetrician, but when a patient desperate to abort her second child, begs her to perform the surgery, she reluctantly agrees. She's promptly blacklisted and transferred from a prestigious hospital in Seoul to an obscure country hospital. To make things worse, she realizes that she herself is pregnant from a relationship with a married man. Rebuilding her life in the wake of these events, Hye Young struggles to keep her pregnancy secret from her co-workers. She clashes with Lee Sang Shik (Go Joo Won), a pediatrician at the new hospital, while an old friend, Wang Jae Sook (Suh Ji Suk), re-enters her life.

I really liked this drama. It was fun to watch because of the surgeries and the events that occurred in the hospital. On the other hand I think it ended well. The story was interesting. Every thing was nice about it.

This series would have been better if they leave the romance out of it. The two main characters (Dr. Lee and Dr Suh) have no chemistry and it's painful to watch when they are together. The medical issues and how they handled them were over- dramatized, but I liked it enough to give it a 3-star.

There are many excellent reviews of this show. I enjoyed all the medical stories on this show. I appreciate the complexity of the medical issues and the thoughtful and caring ways they were presented. In the US, we tend to simply issues around pregnancies in the public square- woman's right to choose what happens to her body (pro-choice) or every fetus has a right to life and to be carried to term and born (pro-life). This series explored the huge gray area many in the US are not aware of. The romance between the main characters was a little weak but that between the intern and the nurse was excellent. Spoiler alert-==== I was surprised by the strapless wedding dress. Spoiler alert ends==== I've had some experience with gynecologists who thought they were gods and acted in the detached manner and the arrogance as these doctors sometimes did. In general, a very good series.

This is simply WOW. You will take a deep plunge in the world of obstetrics and gynecologists to uncover profoundly touching stories of families desperately struggling to bear children and the doctors who heroically and tirelessly help them. The gynecologists of Hankuk hospital are spectacular, particularly the pragmatic Dr. Heayoung Suh who is the epitome of feminism. Though she appears antisocial to her peers, her sole focus are her patients. On the surface she’s in control but her love life is in shambles. As she selflessly helps her patients, she also discovers a new meaning of love and sacrifice while remaining true to her pragmatic sense. As you watch this drama you will be dazzled with how it captures the spirits of the patients, their resilience, their secrets, their fears, their shortcomings, and their fundamental right to choose.

The story line about HIV and how their wrote it..The racial prejudice and ignorance of the hospitals ..Even the young doctor Ahn Kyung play by Song Joong Ki who should know better is simple-minded about it...I just hope and pray that the hospitals in Korea aren't as it been portray in this drama when it come to people with HIV & AIDS Symptoms....We have come a long way when it come to HIV....Now when it come to Ko Joo Won as Dr. Lee ...His character creep me out,..I saw him more as a stalker then a love interest for Dr Hee...Seriously!! Everywhere she when he was there awwwww

I like the main char, but in the 1st episode you have 3 women talking about their babies like they're trash they just want to get rid of. Babies are just inconveniences, and these women don't show any remorse thinking about killing babies, even over 20 weeks. I'm definitely for pro-choice, but not so you don't piss of your in-laws or for sheer convenience. Abortions are for medical necessity or extenuating circumstances. These are all successful, competent parents who take life too lightly, in my opinion. The down-syndrome animated baby face was just creepy. I've seen many babies, and none looked like that. And if anyone ever yelled like a crazy person in a real surgery, he's so fired! How unprofessional how they panic and also how they talk to the media about patients. However, on the plus side, the show is messy just like real life and the special effects for the surgery are great. I'm gonna give the next few episodes a shot, but if they're anything like this one, I may have to try another show.

I agree the romantic leads are not believable but the stories are good. The one about the baby born to a brain dead mother was so touching I felt like crying.

Not the actor, but the character.... Honestly he feels like a stalker, and every time I see him come on screen I cringe. I'm only half way through the episodes so perhaps my feelings will change, but I doubt it. Dr. Lee seems to be developing a completely one sided obsession with the female lead, there is absolutely NO chemistry between those two at all. There seems to be more chemistry between Dr. Lee and the kindhearted nurse! I keep wishing those two would get together instead, but I'm sure to be disappointed in that regard too. Dr. Wang on the other hand.... WOW! He should have been the primary lead! I could see a romance between him and the main female lead... Yeah, I'm half way through this Drama and so far none of the romantic pairings seem to fit, and I doubt I'll see any changes since Korean Dramas tend to have pretty predictable plot lines... But I'll keep watching because I REALLY like Suh Ji Suk.....

I enjoyed watching. However there was more emphasis on the medical emergencies rather than the story. The story line of the characters personal lives were very weak and unemotional.
