Moyashimon starring Nakamura Yuichi, Chisun, Haneyuri, and Nishida Koji
Adapted from Masayuki Ishikawa's comedic popular manga, Moyashimon: Tales of Agriculture is now a brand new live-action TV show. The story follows college student Tadayasu Sawaki (played by Nakamura Yuichi), the second son of a miso fermenter. He enters the University of Agriculture in Tokyo and soon learns that he can see microorganisms appearing to him as strange characters. Not only that, but he can communicate with the bacteria around him.
With its funny take on an unusual superpower, Moyashimon, the manga, has been publishing since 2004. The animated version hit the airwaves in 2007, and Moyashimon continues to grow in popularity with the live action in 2010. Featuring music by Tamurapan and SEAMO.
The theme of the drama is very unique. I have never seen one kouji kins are flying in the air throughout the show.
And it was a good surprising for me that Nishida san from Waraimeshi also works as an actor. I will keep watching this to check him out.
Besides the assistant who dresses like a Slut, this is a young adult show.!! This almost could be used in a classroom to teach students.. I actually learned something!! It's best not to even rate this, but if you are a med student then this this is the show for you!!!
When I first heard of a drama with a person who could see microbes, I was itching to watch it. :) Now that I have, I have to say that the little guys (microbes, I mean) gave just that extra bit to the drama. Perhaps it's because it's been a while since I've watched a Japanese drama and their acting style is a bit too exaggerated for me, but I still say it's entertaining, though ridiculous at times. I moved from one episode to the other with curiosity, and not a burning need to finish it. All in all, considering the fact that it's a short drama, it's worth it to watch if you have time - or even between longer dramas.. AND you get to learn the basics of bacteria and their names. :) I found myself wanting to see my own bacteria and be able to interact with them.
I watched (and loved) the anime but I am wondering HOW in the world they made this live action... now I have to watch it <(^.^)> The reviews seem pretty good so far...
I really liked this one. Every episode was full of laughing out loud moments. The acting wasn't outstanding, but the characters were definitely all interesting! Haruka and Kei were my favorites. Only thing I didn't like was when they started teaching us about bacterias. Some of it was interesting, like the Milky Sea, but most was just useless.
LOL. It was an easy, fun watch. Though I'm not exactly sure what the relationship between Sawaki and 1) Kei, 2) Haruka, 3) Oikawa were. I don't think he had any feelings for Kei XD, but who did he actually like? Anyway, I might go check out the manga after this - it might provide more answers.
Keep your hand on the space bar... when the microbes and the humans are talking, it's hard to follow both. I had to pause a few times.
Fave character was Haruka.
Decided to check this one out from a DF recommendation & I'm glad I did. It was cute & funny with some fun facts about bacteria thrown in. If it wasn't for the various hook ups from homemade aphrodisiac, black leather & french maid outfits, you could almost think this was a fun way to teach high schoolers about microbiology. Not going to change the world with this one, but it was a fun distraction. DISCLAIMER: It's hard to multitask with this one if you are dependant on the subtitles. It goes really quickly & there are a lot of times where the different bacteria are talking at the same time as the homosapiens so you have to focus or be OK with backing up more than a few times.
From beginning to end this one was the perfect light comedic drama. It had just the right amount of seriousness and humor mixed along with a dab of romance...
I would recommend this one especially if you need something to lighten your mood after a good cry! XD
