A fusion sageuk like hit drama Hong Gil Dong, it is set in the famous Sungkyunkwan university, a 500-year-old establishment that exists to this day. Micky Yoochun of top K-pop group TVXQ takes the lead in this drama based on a series of novels, while Park Min Young (Princess Ja Myung Go, Unstoppable High Kick), Song Joong Ki (Will It Snow at Christmas? and Triple), and Yoo Ah In (The Man Who Can't Get Married, Strongest Chil Woo) round out the cast.
Kim Yoon Hee (Park Min Young) is a brilliant young woman at a time that women are not allowed to attend university. Supporting her family by doing odd jobs at a bookstore, she grows increasingly desperate at the hands of her family's debt. When her younger brother falls ill, she winds up entering Sungkyunkwan University disguised as a boy. Even though she she'll be beheaded if her true identity is discovered, Yoon Hee will do anything to help her brother. In school, she falls in with, Lee Sun Joon (Micky Yoochun), the brilliant son of the Prime Minister. She is also befriended by Goo Yong Ha (Song Joong Ki), a wealthy playboy, and street ruffian Moon Jae Shin (Yoo Ah In). What with all-male roommates, Yoon Hee will have to keep her wits about her so she is not found out in this fascinating look into Korea's most prestigious university.

I loved this drama!!! it was so funny. and the love the two leads shared was so sweet. But the whole entire drama I kept thinking how I loved Yoo ah In!!!! oh the hottness. he is so cute to me. I just fell in love!!!

I liked the historical aspect. I know little to nothing about Korean history and the small amount that was in this story was interesting. I enjoy a good reverse-harem story and "girl posing as a boy" story so this hit a spot. I really liked all the actors. They worked really well together. Each episode was interesting and I wasn't fast forwarding through it, since there wasn't a lot of superfluous background stories. Not a bad show all and all.

I could not understand what the whole big deal about this drama was. Story is pretty predictable. Characters are poorly developed, and acting is poor aside from Song Joong Ki .

I enjoyed this tremendously up through the halfway mark - up til then I could ignore the historical subplot. After that, too tedious. A good show, not as funny as others. The Jalgeum Quartet was pretty flawless all together, although I became a bit bored with Lee Seun Joon's character after a while: way too noble. But of course he has to be for the plot. Loved the other 2 guys! And Park Min Young is so cute to watch, even if she never truly looks like a guy. Oh well.

This drama is so cool in relation to friendship and love. I enjoyed watching this. I am going to watch all of Mickey's dramas :)

I'm really enjoying this drama so far, and the eye candy is off the charts!! I can't wait to see how this drama unfolds. So far, it doesn't seem to drag on and each episode is very interesting. The undertoned love triangle is hilarious. I'm giving it 4 stars until I've seen the ending. UPDATE, sweet ending

I initially started watching this drama due to Micky being in it....but at the end I started to fall in love with Yoo Ah In as an actor.... <3 This drama is so cute, innocent and sweet, one of the top 10 best dramas in my personal opinion!!! :)
