A fusion sageuk like hit drama Hong Gil Dong, it is set in the famous Sungkyunkwan university, a 500-year-old establishment that exists to this day. Micky Yoochun of top K-pop group TVXQ takes the lead in this drama based on a series of novels, while Park Min Young (Princess Ja Myung Go, Unstoppable High Kick), Song Joong Ki (Will It Snow at Christmas? and Triple), and Yoo Ah In (The Man Who Can't Get Married, Strongest Chil Woo) round out the cast.
Kim Yoon Hee (Park Min Young) is a brilliant young woman at a time that women are not allowed to attend university. Supporting her family by doing odd jobs at a bookstore, she grows increasingly desperate at the hands of her family's debt. When her younger brother falls ill, she winds up entering Sungkyunkwan University disguised as a boy. Even though she she'll be beheaded if her true identity is discovered, Yoon Hee will do anything to help her brother. In school, she falls in with, Lee Sun Joon (Micky Yoochun), the brilliant son of the Prime Minister. She is also befriended by Goo Yong Ha (Song Joong Ki), a wealthy playboy, and street ruffian Moon Jae Shin (Yoo Ah In). What with all-male roommates, Yoon Hee will have to keep her wits about her so she is not found out in this fascinating look into Korea's most prestigious university.

I'm really enjoying this drama so far, and the eye candy is off the charts!! I can't wait to see how this drama unfolds. So far, it doesn't seem to drag on and each episode is very interesting. The undertoned love triangle is hilarious. I'm giving it 4 stars until I've seen the ending. UPDATE, sweet ending

I initially started watching this drama due to Micky being in it....but at the end I started to fall in love with Yoo Ah In as an actor.... <3 This drama is so cute, innocent and sweet, one of the top 10 best dramas in my personal opinion!!! :)

Honestly to begin with, I wanted to watch this movie because of Micky Yoo Chun, but I fell in love at first sight with Yoo Ah In and Song Joong Ki. I really really really love their characters in this movie, I love that they keep a clean and positive atmosphere and makes you laugh. This movie is recommended, has very great quotes and phrases about life lessons and such, I love it. All the characters are played out very well indeed, I can't get enough! :D

I don't usually watch the history Korean dramas but this one got me insanely hooked! My first time watching Yoochun and now I'm a big fan...both main characters are awesomely good and have very the chemistry sparkled. MUST WATCH!

Sungkyunkwan Scandal should be in the queue of every Kdrama addict-seriously! Its 5/5 rating and loyal fan following are well deserved. This drama is uplifting and feel-good all around. Everything worked: Plot twists, sizzling romance between the leads, unforgettable scenes (the roommate situation always did me in) and the cast. I really fell in love with the characters! The infamous-and HOT- "crazy horse", the nerdy Conficus-quoting student, Sun Joo's hilarious male servant w/ his social commentary, and one of my favorites--Yong Ha! I couldn't help but smile (or laugh out loud) whenever Yong Ha appeared on the screen in all his fashionable, flirtatious, splendid glory...not to mention the epic Bromance between Yong Ha & Jae Shin that drove women crazy. What a duo! Those of us who watched know exactly what I am referring to--swoon! This drama was SO GOOD, I didn't want it to end. Even after enjoying other dramas, you'll come back to watch this again and again--yeah, it's that good!

OMG....for me this is great casting, great director and great romance/comic script. this is for both mature and teen audience. just sit back and enjoy this great kdrama. i fell in love with the 3 leading male characters.

I loved this show so much. Romance, comedy, action, writing, directing, acting. One of my top shows now. love, love, love. My favorite was the playboy he was so mischievous and cute and loved the noble thief too. Even evil boy was hot. I wouldn't change a thing. Cutest ending ever.
