Biography

Mickey He (also known as He Shengming), is a Chinese actor and singer born in Xiantao, Hubei of China. In 1996 he pursued a music career by joining a boy band called China Power as the lead vocalist. The group enjoyed success in the Cantonese music scene and won ""Best Group"" at the first annual Chinese Singing Awards held in Hong Kong in 1997.

In 1998 he left China Power to be a solo singer but only met lukewarm response. He announced his indefinite leave from the music industry and enrolled in the Beijing Film Academy, occasionally appearing in TV dramas. After an unsuccessful attempt to return to the music scene in 2005, he retired to work as a backstage visual supervisor. He was then discovered by Yu Zheng, one of China's most popular television drama producers, and was cast in Rose Martial World (2008) which propelled him to stardom.

Success continued with such shows as Schemes of a Beauty (2009), Pretty Maid (2010) and Happy Mother-in-law, Pretty Daughter-in-law (2010). He won the Best Newcomer award for Golden TVS Awards for his performance in Pretty Maid. Mickey gained further fame for his role as the fourth prince who eventually became Yongzheng Emperor in the very popular romance drama Palace (2011), and followed up with Palace 2 (2012). His music career has also been revived due to his success in acting. He sang the theme songs for many of the TV dramas he's been in.
