Biography

Having appeared in 15 television drama series since 2004, Hwang Bo Ra works hard to bring her great talent to the Korean entertainment industry. She is a leading actress of her generation, with mysterious, beautiful looks and excellent performances. And not only has she achieved major success as a television star, but she has also worked in many feature-length films as well.

On October 2, 1983, Hwang Bo Ra was born in South Korea. She studied at Dongguk University before choosing acting as a career. Since her debut performance in 1999's Memento Mori, at the age of 17, she has appeared in over 20 titles and is a household name in Korean entertainment. Fans are drawn in by her darkly mysterious looks and great acting skills, and her constant hard work has her appearing in new shows and movies each year.

Her most recent full-length film performance was in Jumunjin (2009), a whimsical romantic tale about a young woman in a rural mountain lodge who becomes romantically involved with a ghostly stranger. Fans will hopefully see her in another feature film soon, but until then she can be seen in the ongoing series, Arang and the Magistrate.
