Biography

Hyun Bin is a Korean actor who is best known for his roles in Late Autumn and My Name Is Kim Sam Soon. Born in Seoul, South Korea as Kim Tae Pyung, Hyun Bin is a graduate of Chung-Ang University where he majored in Theater Studies. Even at a young age he was known for his good looks, and he was discovered by a talent agent while still in high school. Hyun Bin's parents were initially against his career choice, but he eventually won their blessings and made his debut in Bodyguard in 2003.

His real shot at fame, however, came with the hit romantic comedy My Name Is Kim Sam-Soon in 2005. The success of Secret Garden in 2010 further increased his popularity. He also starred in the English-language film Late Autumn, which brought him accolades for his acting. He has received acting awards for My Name Is Kim Sam Soon, Secret Garden, and the Snow Queen. In addition to his acting talents, Hyun Bin has contributed to several music albums, as well.

Hyun Bin will finish serving his 21 months of mandated military service on December 16, 2012.
