Biography
Jang Dong Gun is a South Korean Actor born on March 7, 1972, in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, South Korea. He attended Korea National University of Arts, College of Drama for a time without graduating. He instead began his acting career in TV dramas after entering a talent contest in 1992.
His first starring role was opposite Shim Eun Ha in the TV drama The Last Match. Jang Dong Gun moved on to film, enjoyed much success in hits such as Anarchists, Friend, Taegukgi, The Promise,, Typhoon, not to mention his debut in Hollywood in the film The Warrior’s Way, co-starring Kate Bosworth.
He returned to his roots in television drama in 2000 starring alongside Chae Rim in the series All About Eve, considered by some to be one of the best Korean dramas of all time. He continued to make films; however, in 2012, he made a much-anticipated return to television in the romantic comedy/drama series A Gentleman’s Dignity on SBS. A Gentleman’s Dignity co-stars Kim Ha Neul, is described as a male version of Sex, the City.
Jang Dong Gun is married to Model/Actress Ko So Young. Together they have a son.
