Jo In-sung was born on July 28, 1981 in Seoul, South Korea. After graduating high school in Seoul, he attended Chunnam Science College and later attended Dongguk University, where he majored in Performing Arts.

He started out his career as a fashion model for Ziozia in 1998, but he caught his first acting break in the daytime sitcom Nonstop in 2001. His popularity grew in 2002, for his starring role in Shooting for the Star. During his career so far, he has starred in 8 television shows, 7 movies and has received 10 awards.

In November of 2008, he enlisted for his mandatory military service and following in his father’s footsteps, he decided to serve his time in the Air Force. He was discharged from his military duties in May of 2011, after serving 2.5 months at Osan Air Force in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi.

He immediately jumped right back to the silver screen with Kwon Bob / The Art of Fist Duel and it was just announced that he will be playing a leading role in That Winter, The Wind Blows. There is no premiere date set for this television show but it will be aired on KBS in 2013.
