Biography

Joo Ji Hoon is a Korean actor who was born with the name Joo Young Hoon in Seoul, South Korea. He studied business at Tongwon University, but soon decided that his real path lay in a performance career. He began modeling in 2003 and had a very successful couple of years endorsing numerous products.

In 2006, Joo Ji Hoon made the switch from modeling to acting, and he was lucky—and talented—enough to land a lead role for his first acting appearance. The show was called Princess Hours, and was based off of a very successful manhwa, or Korean comic book. Like the book, the show proved to be a smash hit with fans, and after just one acting job, he was rocketed to stardom.

In 2007, he was awarded another large role on a television series, The Devil. He then acted in his first movie, called Antique, in 2008. He was the star of the film. In 2009, he starred in yet another movie, this time a romantic comedy called The Naked Kitchen. In 2012, after a time of military service, he has returned to acting, working on television series Five Fingers and a film, I Am a King.
