Biography

Jung Ryeo Won is a Korean Actress who began her career as a pop singer. Born in Seoul, South Korea, she moved with her family to Australia at an early age. She studied international business at Australian Griffith University. Later, at Korea University, she studied journalism. Her career as a performer did not start until she was discovered by an agent while she was on a trip in Korea.

After her discovery, Jung Ryeo Won became part of the pop girl group Chakra in 1999. The band put out six albums between 1999 and 2003, and they enjoyed success and a strong fan following. However, in 2006 the band split up and each of the members began working on solo projects.

While Chakra was still together, Ryeo Won didn’t have too much time to work on acting, but she managed to take roles when she could. She acted on six different television shows between 2003 and 2005. In 2005, she got her biggest acting break when she received a role on the television series My Lovely Sam Soon. The show went on to become a huge success, elevating her popularity even more. Since then she’s acted in five other shows and seven films throughout her career.
