Biography

Kim Hae Sook is a Korean actor who was born in Busan, South Korea on December 30, 1955. Her career spans decades and she has acted in dozens of television series and movies. She has won numerous awards for excellent acting. In 2005, she also wrote a book called Mother of Hallyu Stars: Kim Hae Sook’s Story.

She began acting in 1974 when she appeared on the television show Chief Inspector. Between then and 1999, she had small parts in many different television shows. She also acted small roles in sixteen different movies. However, it was not until the late 1990s that her career as an actress really began to take off. She appeared on the television series Did We Really Love? in 1999. The show was a hit with fans, and her acting was praised.

She went on to act on the show Autumn in My Heart in 2000. The show was the first installment of a four season series, and was a massive success. She also acted in the other three seasons in 2002, 2003 and 2006, propelling her into stardom. In 2008 she won awards for her role in the film Open City and followed up her success with another hit movie, Thirst, in 2009. She filmed two movies and a television show in 2012 and has strong plans for a film in 2013.
