Biography
Kim Hyun Joong is a Korean musician, Actor. He was born on June 6th, 1986 in Seoul, South Korea. Hyun Joong knew at an early age that he wanted to be a performer,, dropped out of school in order to learn how to sing, play guitar. After a few failed groups, he became the leader of the band SS501, which debuted in 2005. The band released nine studio albums between 2005 to 2010 contributed to many soundtracks.
During his time with SS501, Hyun Joong also began a strong acting career. He appeared on many different television shows between 2005- 2008 also voiced a character for a film in 2006. His biggest acting break came in 2009, when he was cast to play a part in the television series Boys Over Flowers. The show, which was based on a very popular Japanese manga, was wildly successful with viewers. His popularity grew after his role on the show.
In 2010, Hyun Joong played a part on another television show, Playful Kiss. He also began creating, releasing his own solo music, away from his band. As of 2012, he is playing a part on another television series, called City Conquest. He also continues to create music, make appearances on variety shows.
