Kim Jong Kook, the popular South Korean singer and variety show television actor, was born April 25, 1976 in Gyeonggi, South Korea. He has one brother, Kim Jong Myung, a plastic surgeon.
In 1995, at age 18, Kim Jong Kook had his debut in the popular group Turbo. Since 2001, when Turbo disbanded, he has become successful as a popular solo ballad singer.
At the height of his popularity in 2006, Kim Jong Kook entered military service. After his release in 2008, Kim Jong Kook made a successful comeback focusing on the popular variety shows like Running Man and Family Outing. After a three-year break from music, Kim Jong Kook released a new album in October 2012, produced by his own agency, JK Entertainment.
Known for his muscular physique and intense workouts, Kim Jong Kook also promotes popular South Korean apparel brands. Still single, Kim Jong Kook has expressed interest in getting married soon, much to the delight of his female fans worldwide.
