Biography

Kim So Yeon, a South Korean television star, has been working in the television industry since 1994. Her first role, a small one, was on Dinosaur Teacher, a television series that aired on MBC. She is best known for her work in All About Eve(2000), a drama that focused on the trials and tribulations of up-and-coming news reporters. She played a leading role in the drama and won the Character Award for the role.

She also enjoyed the success of Iris a top rated South Korean drama about the trials and tribulations of two friends in the 707th military unit. The drama was one of the most expensive television shows ever produced as of its 2009 air date and remains a massive success. A spin-off of the show was produced the following year and Iris 2 is currently in production with Kim So Yeon starring in the series again. The show is slated to air in 2013.

She also won critical acclaim for her work in Dr. Champ, a medical drama about a love triangle. The television series aired in 2010. She has also had moderate film success, although her overwhelming popularity stems from her television appearances.
