Biography

Kim Young Ok is a Korean actress who was born on December 5, 1937. She has had a long and illustrious career that continues to be a strong one in 2012. She first began acting in 1976 when she appeared in the movie Robot Taekwon V. She then took a long break from acting, and did not reappear until 1996 when she had a large role on the television show Until We Can Love.

After her return to acting, she appeared on many successful television shows, such as Wang Run’s Land and Splendid Days. She also did several movies, including Spring Breeze. In 2007 she had a role on the popular television series The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince. The role helped her become more recognizable to newer or younger fans. She then played a string of grandmother roles on shows such as I Hate You, But It’s Fine and Strongest Chil Woo.

In 2009 she appeared on the dramatic and romantic television series Assorted Gems. She followed the success of that role with a role on the show Gloria in 2010. In 2011, she acted in a show called Protect the Boss. That same year, she won a lifetime achievement award at the SBS Drama Awards. Her most recent shows include Love, My Love and Haeundae Lovers.
