Biography
Lin Mei Xiu is a Taiwanese actress and TV host. She graduated with a major in dancing from National Taiwan College of Performing Arts. She was active on stage in many plays before gaining recognition in a series of commercials for cough syrups. She started acting in films and on TV in the 1990s.
After a series of minor and supporting roles, her performance in the movie, Comes the Black Dog (2003), won her Best Supporting Actress at Taiwan's prestigious Golden Horse Awards as well as the Asia Pacific Film Festival. She has continued to be a successful character actor in films and TV dramas usually playing the mother or an older woman. She's been popular in both comedic and dramatic roles.
She has won multiple times as Best Supporting Actress in Drama at the Golden Bell Awards for the TV-drama series, Fated to Love You (2008), Happy Together (2010), and then, In Time With You (2011). She also won the honor of Best Actress in a Mini Series for Your Eyes My Hand (2011) at the Golden Bell Awards. She has also had roles in Autumn's Concerto (2009), Material Queen (2011) and Love Me or Leave Me (2012), and the best-selling movie, David Loman (2013).
