Hello Kitty, the beloved cat who's captured the hearts of millions around the world, is not actually a cat! This information was uncovered quite accidentally when Christine R. Yano, an "anthropologist and Hello Kitty scholar," had finished gathering various Hello Kitty pieces for a special upcoming exhibit at the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles. After contacting Sanrio, the company behind the non-kitty for approval, she was informed that Hello Kitty is not a cat...Hello Kitty is a LITTLE GIRL!
