Biography
Ok Taec Yeon is a Korean musician and actor. He was born on December 27, 1988 in Seoul, South Korea, but moved with his family to Massachusetts when he was seven. There, he attended middle and high school and learned to speak English before returning to South Korea to pursue an acting career. In 2006, after a New York City audition, he was selected to participate in the Korean reality show Superstar Survival. Unfortunately, he did not last long on the show, but his appearance soon led to more reality shows.
In 2008 he appeared on the show Hot Blood. The show was a reality show that helped to mold thirteen young men into Dancers and singers. Two bands were created from the show including Taec Yeon’s band, 2PM. Since their debut, the band has released two full length Korean albums, a Korean EP and a full length Japanese album.
In 2010 he began his acting career when he landed one of the lead roles on the show Cinderella’s Sister. The show was a hit and helped to make him even more of a star. He then acted in the show Dream High in 2011, which features the story of several teenagers who hope to make it big in the music business.
